Benefits of Drinking Water

There are numerous benefits to consuming water. Water is vital to maintaining excellent health. Just as humans need air or oxygen to breathe and survive, we also need water. Water is the most needed element to an individual’s survival. Without water, a human being survives only for a couple of days. All of the human cells depend on water to function. Drinking water improves many health conditions. Some health conditions they improve are toxins removal, exhaustion, circulation, and hypertension to name a few. The consumption of plenty water is also good for the kidneys. One’s kidneys filter out waste and toxins from the body. The kidneys need water to perform that action. Water is the base for several things that occurs in the body. Water is the base for the digestion and absorption of food. Without water being the base, food would be hard to break down. Water is also the base of saliva and the fluids surrounding the joints. Water is the base for regulation of body temperatures and blood circulation. Water helps prevent diseases such as colon, bladder, and breast cancers.

Drinking water also improves muscle functions and reduces joint pain. Water makes up the largest volume of blood, lubricates the joints, and helps the lungs filter hazardous material from the air. Drinking water can relieve the retention of water. Sufficient amounts of water assist the human body in the proper digestion of foods and flushes waste out of the body. The benefits of drinking water also include relieving constipation, which may reduce the probability of colon cancer. Consuming water also allows the body to burn fat faster, and in return keeps individuals healthy and fit. It also assists in keeping the skin soft and supple. By drinking water you can eliminate…...

Drinking Water Scarcity

...Water is the foundation of life. It is only in areas that contain liquid water in which life exists. Ancient societies used to cherish water. Some would even worship water and build their lives around it. Recognizing the vitality of water management was of key importance thus water was common and universal. Although everyone is dependant upon it, in today’s society the appreciation of water has greatly diminished as water resources are taken advantage of and exhausted. Ninety-seven percent of the Earth’s water is salt (Barlow & Clarke, 2002). Just a mere three percent of the Earth’s water is fresh water and much of it has been polluted. Despite the fact that water is crucial for survival, this basic need is one that is not afforded to all. On the basis of profit, water has become a life and death situation. Wealthy people and countries with the ability to pay will have access to water. Those who cannot afford to pay for the basic need of water, that has now become a commodity, will go without and suffer in poverty. Drinking water scarcity is a huge pandemic. Due to human’s selfish and non-sustainable impact of the water supply there is a global water crisis- the world is running out of water. Amongst developed countries and multinational corporations, there is a damaging mentality that water can be used without limit as long as there are no immediate or significant impacts. The environmental impact of this way of thinking is detrimental. In reality, all of the negative......

How Can You Lose Weight by Drinking Water?

...weight by drinking water? Water is considered as one of the best way to lose fat weight fast. Because water is the only 0% zero calorie drink, it washes away the toxins in body and cleanses the body from harmful elements. Hence water lowers the Amount of Fat stored in our bodies. Doctors recommend drinking an average of 2 liters of water per day for a normal person, but for those who work out often and play sports … A much larger amount of water is needed for them such as 8 glasses per day. Our organs such as kidneys get very lazy on the job when you don't drink enough water and as a result of you not drinking water, your kidneys give most of its unfinished work to your liver. One of your liver's functions is to help your body burn stored fat for energy and it can't perform that job fully if it has to do the kidney's job also. By not drinking water you put your liver on double duty, decreasing its fat burning potential and causing you to store more fat. If you drink enough water your kidneys will stop being lazy, do its job of excreting waste products from your body “It is a well-known fact that a person can live without food for weeks and even months but he cannot live without water for more than 1 week, he will die without water.” This tells us the “importance of water” and how much essential it is for human life. Water is known to have therapeutic properties; many of diseases can go away if proper consumption of water is ensured. To lose weight fast with......

Are Children Drinking Enough Water?

...Is There A Connection Between Water And Cognitive Function? Introduction According to several studies conducted in the United States, drinking adequate amounts of water does more for children than just ward off dehydration. The studies were done to determine the hydration status of healthy children in the United States and the connection between water and cognitive function. The studies set out to prove whether or not mild dehydration has a negative impact on a child’s ability to function at school. Could there possibly be a connection between the two? Discussion of Objectives A recent study was conducted on a group of 9-11 year olds in Manhattan and LA on their way to school. The group was given 50 dollars to pee in a cup. The urine from nearly 2/3 of the children was considered too concentrated, an indicator that they were dehydrated. Why? Because they weren’t drinking enough water. Three quarters of the children did not drink water between the time when they woke up and when they went off to school (Greger, 2013). But most ate breakfast so they must have been drinking something. The problem is that other beverages are not as hydrating. The levels of sodium, sugars and amino acids in milk and juice can shrink cells and trigger the release of the hormone that signals dehydration (Greger, 2013). So, is there any actual......

You Think the Drinking Water Is Clean

...- Do you really think that every bottled or tap water you drink is completely clean?  Every soda, juice and energy drink all have to start off with water.  Now you’re probably asking yourself why I should care about water pollution. There is an estimate of 14,000 people die every day from water pollution, and in a year that’s 5,110,000 people! There are two main types of causes for water pollution and they are animal manure and homes sewage.  For instance, the main cause in industrial agriculture is manure and its effects toward the environment and towards human health, 2 how the sewages affect our homes and communities.  Industrial agriculture is one of the biggest causes of water pollution in the United States because of manure.  Organizations that were supposed to protect the environment have help pollute the environment.  For instance, Environmental Protection Agency was found polluting forty eight percent of streams and river and forty one percent of lake waters. Most of the water pollution comes from storage and animal manure.  Plants, animals, and humans die from lack of care for the environment.  Industrial farmers store all the livestock manure into big tanks called lagoons.  Lagoons hold over one million gallons of manure. Imagine what would happen if one of these tanks burst open? If farmers do not check the lagoons they don’t notice that the lagoons have cracks and leaks in them.  So basically manure just is leaking out into vast areas.  It gets really bad......

Benefits of Drinking Water

...Benefits of Drinking Water Most people know that drinking water is essential to human life. Without it, the human body will shut down and experience life-threatening health problems, or even death. However, many people tend to forget just how important water is to staying healthy and fit. The fact is, anyone who adopts a fitness regimen needs to understand just how important water is to a great workout and the role it plays in achieving optimal physical results. Working out will make you thirsty, but be sure you are drinking enough to compensate for your exercise? During one hour of intense exercise, the average person can lose a full quart of water just by sweating. To prevent dehydrating, it is a good idea to drink one glass of water for every twenty minutes of exercise. If you know you are prone to sweating a lot, you should be sure to drink even more. Drinking water during exercise is extremely important. However, it is just as important to drink water before and after a workout as well. If you are planning on a tough workout session, you should drink 3-4 glasses of water in the 3 hours before you start sweating. If your muscles are not hydrated when you begin working out, they will be more prone to cramping and injury. Dehydration is also linked to muscle soreness, so be sure your muscles are nice and hydrated before you start. After your workout, you will want to rehydrate your body with even more water. The optimal time for this is within the first two......

Nanoparticles and Drinking Water

...Nanoparticles and Drinking Water A nanoparticle is a microscopic particle with dimensions less than 100nm. These particles are used in varying scientific applications. Nanoparticles have significant surface area to volume ratio and are able to be suspended because of surface particle tension. This application is beneficial in water filtration because interaction with particle surfaces is strong enough to overcome differences in density, which results in filtered materials to either sink or float in a liquid (Fletcher, 2015). Nanotechnology has shown to be useful in water purification because the small molecule contaminates are passively absorbed by the nanoparticles. This discovery is superior to current water purification systems in place like ultraviolet radiation (UV) that is sufficient to kill bacteria however, more absorption occurs on small nanoparticles (Fletcher, 2015). However, nanoparticles can only be used to filter surface and groundwater because cations in saltwater tend to make the particles bind together, losing the effectiveness of its filtration properties (“Nanoparticle”). This technology has been extremely beneficial in Africa where they filter drinking water with paper that is embedded with silver or copper nanoparticles that is able to purify water up to 99.9% purity. Silver nanoparticles account for 23% of all nano-products and function as antimicrobials. Application of nanoparticles in water purification has allowed for the elimination......
