Communication is important in business, since business is a two-way movement.
Goods and services are generated and traded through the close management of numerous people, from time to time inside its own village, and occasionally through global distances.
Direction of this kind calls for deep communication. Complex product provisions and production schedules must be equally understood, and complex contracts between trading partners must be discussed.

Communication styles differ immensely around the world, and these contribute to an overwhelming assortment of business styles. Perhaps the single most worthwhile idea for appreciating cultural changes in business communication is Edward T. Hall’s (1976) distinction of low-context and high-context cultures.

It describes lots concerning how negotiations progress, arrangements are indicated, and how employees are supervised. However this difference, perceptive it may be, is lacking in originality. It is best assumed as imitating a more important difference amongst rule-based and relationship-based cultures, which in turn is cemented in diverse notions of human nature.

The dialogue here begins by showing how business practices reflect low-context and high-context characteristics, but it then changes to the profounder stages to discover how communication styles are fundamentally linked to other features of the culture.

High and Low Context Communication
Regarding high-context communication, the meaning will not be understood if lacking a good amount of circumstantial information. Low-context communication spills more of the data clearly in the communication.

Cultural Taboos
Taboos are frequently entrenched in the views of the individuals of a precise area or culture and are handed down from generation to generation. Numerous cultural standards for business negotiators in the United States may be…...

...BUS357 Starting and Managing a Business Assignment 2 – Group based Assignment January 2013 Presentation 1. Executive Summary This document proposes the feasibility of opening a new Pet Lovers Centre Franchise outlet at the proposed recreational hub at the site of the former Parkland Golf Range in 2014. We see a need for more pet friendly facilities at East Coast Park and we believe that of all the pet franchises operating locally, Pet Lovers Centre has the most compatible business practices and values with our intended business. With steady growth in both the pet population and pet product sales in Singapore, we are targeting the middle class segment primarily, with products priced between $1, up to $500. Our main focus is on dog owners who enjoy bringing their dogs out to play at the beach or park. With an existing market share of 49.7 percent, Pet Lovers Centre is well positioned to benefit from the increased exposure towards pet activities once the hub opens. Our financial projections show that the project will be financially feasible with gross profits of about $300,000 annually, and net income of about $100,000 each year. Our monthly breakeven point requires us to sell roughly 67 units of pet accessories with an average worth of $150, as well as 53 grooming and training appointments worth $350 per session to meet costs monthly. Our estimated starting capital required is $300,000, 50% of which will come from shareholders as equity......

...Assignment 2: Starting a Business Online, Part 2 Janice Monroe Notre Dame University May, 31, 2013   The Jersey Shore Clothing Company has been online a month and we have been offered the opportunity to sell our domain name to a competitor for $1000. It is a tempting offer. With that being said we are just starting to become established as a web presence, and business has been steady. It is possible our competitor could use a different version of our domain name and redirect traffic that would come to our site to their site. The predicament of our competitor utilizing a similar site does not prevail over the fact that our established clients are already using our existing domain, and the amount of resources we put into the advertising using our domain name. Ethically speaking we do not have a copyright on the name “Jersey Shore” ergo anyone is at liberty to utilize the name as they see fit. We feel it is in the overall best interest of the business and our investments to not sell our domain name at this time. We are just becoming established and do not want to deter any of the customer relationships that we have formed since going live online. (Fitzpatrick, 2013) We have decided to continue using the Big Commerce® software as the backbone to our online store. (http://www.bigcommerce.com/). We are looking to work to continue improvements with the shopping cart capabilities on our site. Our online catalog will feature a bold new look as we offer......

It’s going to require the right product and of course the correct approach and research in order to be successful. Identifying the advantages and disadvantages of taking your small business online by performing a SWOT analysis. While conducting a SWOT analysis of my clothing store along the Jersey Shore boardwalk, I determined what my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats could potentially be. My research has indicated that my Strength’s would be my customer service skills, flexibility in my direction and focus, experience in the clothing industry and being able to provide a good value to customers. Weaknesses would be my competition, lack of reputation to gain customer response and potential cash flow. Within the opportunities category, I determined that the weak economy in some regard would be a benefit to apply for government grants and SBA loans to help with my overall business intent. My competition may be slow to adopt new technologies; giving my business the opportunity to excel. The threats that may be a concern are also a weak economy. The developments in technology could change the clothing market beyond our ability to adapt and larger competitors could destroy our chances in the clothing industry. The advantages that I anticipate would be the ability to run my business from virtually anywhere...

...Starting a Small Business UNIT 36 M1 – Pheonix Jones In this document I will be making recommendations on how market research will help launch the business. Target Market Questionnaires The questionnaire included such questions like gender, age preference of food and occupation. Asking these sorts of questions will help us find data regarding if there is a demand for a business like this, which is vital to launch the business. The questionnaire will also help find out the target market which was 16-20 year old students and office workers. We can use this information to create a target market that can be designed to suit the campaign; this means we can also put through promotions to match because we already know the target market. Therefore we can do deals when the business is open, maybe where students get a percentage off goods or a meal deal with the student card.
