Why Absent Parent's Should Pay Child Support

...WHY SHOULD THE ABSENT PARENT PAY CHILD SUPPORT?? Shakira Gibson Week 10 Mrs. Fergie Tuesday C Did you know that there is over $100 Billion in accumulated unpaid support owed to over 18 million children in the United States, according to the Federal Office of Child Support in the Preliminary Statistics in 2003 (streetdirectory.com, 1). Introducing my body paragraphs, I will be addressing why absent parents should pay child support, the effects of the children, and the struggles of a single parent. If the parent is present or not they should support their child/children. The government currently spends $500 million dollars per year chasing payments from absent parents, of whom 95 per cent are fathers (Rowena Mason, Telegraph July 13, 2012).If you are not taking the necessary precautions to prevent from bringing a child into the world, then by every means necessary you should help contribute to the care of that child. There is no excuse as to why you cannot get a job or a hustle to help out. I know that some people have ego's the size of a globe or their pride gets in the way of them getting a job at a restaurant, grocery store, mall and etc. However, when you bring a child into the world all of that should be put aside to help with the financial support of your child. The child did not ask to be here, you made the choice to bare responsibility for that child. If both parents are......

Absent Fathers

...Absent Fathers These days it is not uncommon for children to grow up in a single-mother household with little or no contact from their fathers. I was one of those children. When I was younger I never understood why my dad didn’t want me or why he would take part in conceiving me if he didn’t even care to know who I was. Every year I waited for a phone call, birthday wishes, or a Christmas card, and sadly got nothing. Being raised by a single mother is said to be a cause of some of our country’s most serious social problems. In Quassan T. Castros article, My Father, No Show, he tells us how curious he was about who his absent father is. When Castro gets in contact with his father and explains to him the circumstances under which he was conceived he realizes that his dad was promiscuous and not willing to make an effort to get to know him. He was angry that his father didn’t accept him but didn’t let that hold him back from “spiritual growth”. All Castro wanted as a child is to have his father in his life. In the article he mentions that his mother was strong enough to be both mother and father but as he got closer to adulthood he became more curious. Children of absent fathers tend to feel like they are missing out on something. The man in the family represents strength, teaches leadership, and shows their children many life lessons. Not having a father around can leave many questions unanswered. In some communities it has become acceptable for men to father......

Traditional School vs Online School

...Cristina Batista COM/1455 University studies and Communication I Sheri Lindquist Traditional School VS. Online School The difference between going to school online and traditional school can vary; they are either good or bad differences. From socialization, commute, convenience and family, it can have an impact on a person; the impact can be good or bad. Socialization plays a huge role in a persons’ life especially while attending school. While going to traditional school, a person is more likely to get the benefit of having friends. Online school can prevent a person from having a social life, because all classmates can be in any part of the world. I believe that depression plays a huge part on people that do not have daily contact with others. The more contact with people the more a person evolves to be a better “people” person. In class a student would have the ability to get thorough help by teacher, and online the only thing a student can do is e-mail or call. As for myself, I have to look at someone, in order to understand what I am having trouble understanding. Many people who go online and do not understand many people who do not understand might go silent and fail. No matter the communication, student must always speak up. The thought about success, helps me push a lot, even when I feel like quitting. Fellow class mates can be a help because they are experiencing the same thing, specially if the students are local. The trust between students that we know can...

...Andrade Mr. Jones p.2 November 23, 2013 Pro Prayer In School Over the years, many Americans have discussed the issue about prayer in school. It has been heavily debated since the 1960s, when the Supreme Court decided that prayer in school was unconstitutional and was removed from all public schools. Many people believe that the elimination of prayer in school is beneficial to the students. They say that because religion is private and schools are public it is better that the two should not mix. “To introduce religion in our public schools, builds walls between children who may not have been aware of religious differences before.” (state/church) This, however, its contradicted by many factors that have been seen over the years. Prayers have the power of creating a spiritual atmosphere that helps students drive into values such as humility and discipline. Which is why many people believe that prayers should be allowed in school to develop the maturity of the students. “Banning prayers in school could mean depriving the school children of their freedom of religion.” (prons and cons of prayer in school) According to the First Amendment of the Constitution, all American people have freedom of Andrade 2 religion, press, and expression. Therefore, every children who attends school should have the right to pray at school. Those who are in favor of prayers in school, believe that prayer is an essential part of the school routine. For them, it seems quite irreligious......

Absent Fathers

...In many generations, we have always heard people speaking about absent fathers. Back in the day, fathers were mostly absent due to work or due to military services. Now we have fathers absent simply because they do not want to be involved in their child or children’s life. I have witnessed the absentee of fathers with many people, including myself. It can take a big effect on a child without a father in my opinion. Some kids turn out pretty decent and use the absence of their father to be a better person. On the other hand, some kids feel like their life is pointless and do not want to be in this world. Growing up, my step father helped raise me because my father went to prison at the age of sixteen when my mom was eight months pregnant with me. He did not get a chance to see me come in this world, take my first steps, hear m first words, or see my graduate from kindergarten. I was always told how my father was so smart and how I was just like him. It was always bittersweet hearing this from people being that he was not physically with me during important steps of my life. Even though my step father came in the picture while I was young, it still did not take away the hurt and curiosity of my real father being gone. I was really bad and fought all the time as a young girl. I was really smart, but emotionally distressed. I always felt like I needed my father in my life, but he was never there at the most important times. He was released from prison when I was twelve and......

...The concept of this essay is to compare and contrast between the Scientific School of Thought and the Behaviorist School of Thought. To better understand this essay two matters must be understood, firstly understanding the meaning of management and secondly, the evolution of management. Management is a collection of different roles undertaken to achieve a job effectively. Another matter that needs to be understood is the evolution of management. Management has evolved from the classical approach to bureaucracy to human relations movement and social psychological schools and finally to modern approach to management. The individuals involved during the evolution of management are Frederick Winslow Taylor, Henri Fayol, Max Weber, and Elton Mayo. F. W. Taylor and Henri Fayol developed classical theories and were concerned with the arrangement and performance of a formal organisation. Max Weber developed a structure of organization known as bureaucracy. Weber developed six characteristics of bureaucracy as followed below: 1. Rules created by management, management will direct the lower levels of the organization by using in a steady and expected approach. 2. Separation of labour, each job is specified with different responsibilities and authority. 3. Hierarchical arrangement, each and every organization has a hierarchy of power. The top level staff gives direction to middle level staff and the middle level staff gives direction to the lower......

...chool administrators are worried about cyberspace usage especially when they visually see on the computer hit lists, bomb threats, character assassinations and defamations. Some school officials have took matters in their own hands by suspending, expelling or even banning students from use of computers. Do school administrators have the right to forbid free expression when the online communication posts are created from a home PC and not school regulated computer equipment? Social-networking websites (MySpace, Facebook, Xanga and Friendster) are extremely popular for instance, "more than 90 million people of all ages are registered users of MySpace – good portion of them teenagers. Now granted, majority of online communications is of clean material of favorite things and dislikes but occasionally there will be damaging statements about teachers or a list of classmates to which they want to hurt. Example, five students in Kansas were arrested in April 2006 for a plot to engage in a murderous spree on the seven-years anniversary of the infamous Columbine shootings. The United States House of Representatives passed The Deleting Online Predators Act of 2006 which consists of public schools and libraries to block student access to commercial social-networking sites such as MySpace.com Some individuals do not favor this bill because it unfairly blocs learning applications and websites necessary for the students to learn and communicate. In addition, there is already an act that...
