Personality Reflection Paper
The following will reflect this researchers understanding and reflection on personality, how it defines one, what it means, and if one’s personality changes to fit certain situations. At the end this researcher may have a better insight into herself as well as the personalities of others. This insight can help her in her future endeavors.

Personality
I would define personality as what makes each individual different. Each human being’s personality is as unique as they are. While most people define personality to describe another’s more apparent characteristics, psychologists use personality to try to give reason to similar personalities reacting differently in the exact same single occurrence. For example, individuals with identical backgrounds, motivations, and experiences react very differently to a single event. Some believe that we are each born with our personalities; however I believe that we are born with certain inherent traits while the rest develop because of our environment and our experiences. One’s personality allows one to be expressly unique and exceptional. It is what defines us as individuals and separates us from others.

Key Personality Features
Some key features that define who I am are responsible, loyal, trustworthy, honest, dedicated, open-minded, respectful, patient, and courteous. Responsible because I care about those in my charge and know that any mishaps are my fault. I am loyal and trustworthy because I give nothing up or nothing away. Honest because I try my best to keep my promises and promises of others and I do not lie; lying leads to trouble and unfortunate repercussions. Respectful and courteous describe me because I am considerate of others, I care…...

...Personality Reflection Paper Lisa Rutherford PSY 250 March 26, 2013 Harry Lowe Personality Reflection Paper I would define personalities as the different characteristics that make up and define every one as individuals. It is a composition of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors unique to every person. Some people have very interesting personalities, outgoing, happy go lucky, ready to get up and start their day. Then there are others which are just plain nonsocial, and do not want anything to do with others, just want to be quiet and to themselves. I am a very outgoing, bubbly, ready to enjoy life. I enjoy talking to people and will strike up a conversation just about anywhere, the Laundromat, the grocery or the gas station. Many people have told me I would be a great waitress because I have a bubbly personality. A friend of mine is very spiritual and has told me he has seen my spirit. It is very free and I am a good person inside. Good thing because I feel that way all the time. The unconscious part of my personality, yes, I see myself doing things as my parents have done or said with my own children. Expecting high goals from them, such as grades, and how they treat others. My personality does change with the environment around me. I notice that if everyone is quiet or laid back then I tend to do the same. This drives me crazy sometimes as I am a go getter and want to always go, go, and go. Before moving to Texas three weeks ago, I had a problem with neuroticism. I...

Austin PSY/250 April 6, 2014 Barney Williams University of Phoenix Material Personality Reflection Using the textbook, the University Library, the Internet, and/or other resources, answer the following questions. Your responses to each question will vary but overall should be 700- to 1,050-words in length. 1. How would you define personality? * * One tends to define personality as relative self. After reading chapter 1 of Personality: Classic Theories and Modern Research and cross referencing memories of friends, family, and even media personalities, and encompassing ideas from the author such as correlations in the study of personalities. Then there are eight aspects to personality, psychoanalytic, neo-analytic/ego, biological, behaviorist, cognitive, trait, humanistic/existential, and interactionist. As an adult 40 years of age, one has seen criminal turn their life around, productive citizens become criminals, disgruntle individual become appreciative individual, even gay and lesbian men and women become heterosexual men and women, so left with experience, and reading chapter 1 of Personality: Classic Theories and Modern Research, one agrees with an 20th century idea of relative self , and “that is, there is no underlying self beneath an outward-facing mask, but rather the “true” self is comprised merely of masks” (Friedman & Schustack, 2012 p. 9) * 2 What are some key personality......

...Personality Reflection PSY/250 Personality Reflection In this Personality Reflection, I will define personality and define personal features of my own personality structures. Personality is what defines our characteristics as a human being. Individuals have different personality traits that make up our behavioral characteristics, which may include how we think or react. Some characteristics are inherited in our genes. For example, I have a mannerism of always chewing my tongue ever since I was a child, which I am usually unaware of doing except when my friends and family notices it and mentions it to me. My son does the same thing of chewing his tongue when he was between the age of two and three. Personalities are unique and people are genetically born with their own unique personality, although environment plays an important role in molding a person’s personality. Environments can vary from living in poverty versus being rich, having a nurturing family versus being neglected as a child, or living in a violent environment versus living in a quiet environment. The environment can vary, and the experiences of a person can mold the unique personality that he was born with. The key personality features that defines me is I try to maintain an appearance to show friendliness, happy, non-stressed, never moody, and a smile that welcomes people to get to know me. Depending of the environment my personality can change, according to the environment that I am in. In my work......

...Personality Reflection Paper Ronald Aliangan PSY/250 September 13th, 2014 My personality can be defined as an amiable person that really cares about others. I am outgoing, sensitive, emotional, and direct. I have been known to put other people’s needs in front of my own. I am not usually short on things to say. Also I love being around friends and family, but also really love to have my alone time. I have two older sisters that ironically have very different personalities then mine but they are both very similar to one another. All of my life I have been a popular person that excelled at athletics, and have been a bit defined by that sadly enough. I also have a creative side. I like painting, drawing, and playing the guitar. As I know, this is a vast way of defining my personality, but I feel this is the best way that I know how. My key personality features are that I am outgoing, charismatic, friendly, loving, and impatient. Some concepts that people may use when explaining me would be, “bull in a china shop”, and “hard on the outside but soft on the inside”. Generally I different around everyone. There is a significant difference in the way I act around my friends and family opposed to the way I would act around a person that had quite a bit of age on me, at least in the topics I would discuss and the way I would discuss them. I would be lying if I said that I didn’t act different around the oposite sex then when I am just hanging out...

The personality is what makes a person grow into who they are and who they will become. It is basically just a lot of features that make a person do and act the way they do. It makes them who they are. For example; what type of attitude they have towards something. The way they prefer to do something. The way they speak. And the way the person presents themselves to others. What things that they like to do and how they decide to get it done. Some personality features that would describe me would probably be that I am very shy, and I am just a laid back. I try to do as much as I can to succeed my goals. I am a hard working person. I would prefer to work alone than with a lot of people. I love to bake cakes and decorate them. I am a mom. I have two wonderful little boys. They have a lot to do with the way that I have become; I think that this one would also be a personality trait. It is another trait that has shaped me into the person that I have become. There are a lot of feature that would describe me personally that are both positive and negative. Some of the negative things would be I hate cleaning and it takes me a long time to get my house clean. I can be very selfish when I get stressed out or when I get mad. There are many more negative ways to describe me but, I...

...Personal Reflection on the Self Paper Camille Beezley Psy/400 March 2, 2015 Jodi Clarke Introduction When reviewing the self in a social world, there is a lot to be learned; such as learning about oneself and the process of how one perceives or reflects on the self-image and how we feel about ourselves in general. To learn about self-concept can be one of the hardest things. When we think about who we are as a person, we can begin to understand ourselves better and get a better view of our possible self. Have you ever looked into the mirror and asked the person before you that day old question “who am I” and really looking for the answer? Sometimes we may think we know who we are until you see yourself from a new perspective to answer that question “who am I?” Once we get the basic answer, we can begin to think about our possible self. Not only who am I? But who I want to become (Possible self). Self-Concept Self-Concept is how we see ourselves through our perception. Self-concept can be influenced by life experience, environmental influences, and through our genetic background. Self-concept can also be looked at from an attribution perspective on how we view ourselves. The “self-concept,” is the concept the individual has of him or herself as a physical, social, and spiritual or moral being (Gecas, Viktor. (1982). For example a person saw themselves as an artistic person then all their interest would be revolved creative things such as art, galleries, and......

Self is made of the human’s own biology his or her cognitive process and perception of oneself compared to others. This paper is going to look at the concept of self and how this relates to real-life; situations affect a person’s self-efficacy and esteem. Personalities are made up of the characteristic patterns of thoughts, feeling, and behavior that make a person unique. With this almost every day describe and assess the personalities of people that are around us. Whether we realize it or not, these daily musings on how and why people behave as they do are similar to what personality psychologists do (Cherry, 2011). While our informal assessments of personality tend to focus more on individuals, personality psychologists instead use conceptions of personality that can apply to everyone. What are some of the key personality features that define me. With the list of different personalities, that I looked up this was a difficult diction that I made. Some of the key personality features that define me are, openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, most of all I am neuroticism (Define Personality Traits, 1996). ...organisation’s legends. Legends can stay with an organisation and become part of the established way of doing things. It is important to note that there is not just one organisational culture. It is widely recognised by the academic literature that different organisations have distinctive cultures. Also, there may be more than one culture within organisations. PERSONALITY PSYCHOLOGY Personality psychology studies enduring psychological patterns of behaviour, thought and emotion, commonly called an individual's personality. Theories of personality vary between different psychological schools. Trait theories attempts to break personality down into a number of traits, by use of factor analysis. The number of traits has varied between theories. One of the first, and smallest which had three dimensions: extraversion—introversion, neuroticism—emotional stability, and psychoticism. The theory that has most empirical evidence behind it today may be the "Big Five" theory. A different, but well known, approach to personality is that whose structural theory of personality divided personality into the ego, superego, and theory of personality has been criticized by many, including many mainstream psychologists. STRESS MANAGEMENT Stress is a fact of life, wherever you are and whatever you are doing. You cannot avoid stress, but you can learn to manage it so it doesn’t manage you. ...Personality Reflection Shannon Johnson PSY/250 10/05/2015 Phoenix Personality Reflection How would I define personality? To me personality is made of so many different things. It takes allot of individual traits to make up someone’s personality. The way that you have been raised from just a little baby. The DNA that has started your foundation in life. What your beliefs are. Five factors have been narrowed down. * Openness = Appreciation for emotion, art, unusual ideas, and a variety of experience * Conscientiousness = Mostly dependable, organized, goals, and self-discipline * Extraversion = Positive energy, assertive, positive emotions, seeks stimulation from others * Agreeableness = Cooperative, trusting, compassionate, competitive * Neuroticism = unpleasant emotions, anger, anxiety, low stability Remember OCEAN To me people are all different. Might have the same hair color, like the same kind of tv shows, even the same first name. Personality comes from traits that you are born with and traits that are learned. If two people go through the exact same thing that does not mean that, they will react or feel the same way. Everyone in this world is unique in his or her own way. Personality is what we have in order to live life on life’s terms. . Every person on this earth thinks of things differently. Traits relates to an individual being merry or depressed, active or care less, brilliant or ignorant. There are many different definitions about personality. Most definitions are on mental system which is a cluster of mental pieces implicating purposes, feelings, and thinking patterns. The meanings alternate a little as to what those pieces may be, it comes to the concept that traits have patterns or worldwide operation mental systems. Let’s read a few of systems: "Personality is the entire mental organization of a human being at any stage of his development. It embraces every phase of human character: intellect, temperament, skill, morality, and every attitude that has been built up in the course of one's life." (Warren & Carmichael, 1930, p. 333) (In an acknowledged overstatement...) "Personality is the essence of a human being." (Hall & Lindzey, 1957, p. 9, characterizing statements by Gordon Allport) "An individual's pattern of psychological processes arising from motives, feelings, thoughts, and other major areas of psychological function. Personality Reflection

...Personality Reflection Many people question what personality is and how personality is determined and measured. All human beings are born with a unique personality, which develops and matures similarly to physical growth, and the degree of development and maturity is contingent upon environment and upbringing. This paper will reflect upon the concept of what personality is, and address questions relevant to personality testing and its reliability and validity. What is Personality? “Personality is the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual's distinctive character” ("Personality," 2012). This textbook definition is an excellent summation of what personality is, as there is no one way to describe personality, since it is a blend of key aspects such as: unconscious, ego forces, cognitive, biological, conditioning, traits and predispositions, spiritual, and interaction (Friedman & Schustack, pp. 2-3, 2009). Combined, these eight perspectives can assist in the definition and understanding the complexities of an individual’s personality. Personality is what defines us as unique individuals, what attracts or repels us to each other, and ultimately personality determines our outlook and approach in regards to living life. My Defining Personality Features I believe I possess both positive and negative key personality features, as do many people. Positive personality features that define myself are being extroverted, sympathetic to others feelings...

Personality Reflection

...Personality Reflection People often speak of the personality as if it were good. Not only that, sometimes speak as if the personality faces consisted of attractive and admirable, but do not see that personality is something with a bit of confusion and includes both positive and negative traits. The personality is composed of a number of features we use. Personality is the sum total of the ways in which an individual reacts and relates with others. Personality is determined by genes, which provide a variety of trends. But the environment and life experiences dealing with mold all these possibilities in one direction or another. That's why although we may change our way of being, we do agree with some personality traits with which we come into the world. Personality is very attached to the concept that human beings have of themselves and the world around them, as people react to the world according to their perceptions. The personality determines the way of seeing the world and sees ourselves, but at the same time, the way we see ourselves affects our personality. Personality is defined as the set of attitudes and behavioral style of a person, or the entire set of psychological traits that characterize a person and distinguish them from all others. It is easy to talk about physical or personality traits without defining the term itself. And we do frequently: Do not trust this man. It is honest, has a good heart, and so on. But it is difficult to process a broad......

What are the three most significant things that you learned about critical thinking during this course? The three most significant things I have learned about critical thinking are as follows: b. Clarify Your Thinking i. Be on the look-out for vague, fuzzy, formless, blurred thinking. Try to figure out the real meaning of what people are saying. Look on the surface. Look beneath the surface. Try to figure out the real meaning of important news stories. Explain your understanding of an issue to someone else to help clarify it in your own mind. Practice summarizing in your own words what others say. Then ask them if you understood them correctly. You should neither agree nor disagree with what anyone says until you (clearly) understand them. c. Stick to......
