“Man is a goal seeking animal. His life only has meaning if he is reaching out and striving for his goals.”
Aristotle
My current mission is to further my education and challenge about myself in the process. I believe that pursuing a higher education will give me the chance to realize my strengths and weaknesses. The time that I am in enrolled in school will be a time for me to realize how many opportunities and challenges there are in a competitive environment. I plan to accomplish this goal through my ultimate formula for success, and that formula is hard work plus dedication equals success. One of my long term goals is to obtain a position at a firm that is forward thinking and proactively innovative. My ideal company will have extensive research in international business and make a positive impact on the global environment. I have gotten a chance to be employed for a company that was heading in this direction, and it gave me an idea of the kind of firm I would like to be employed for in the future. My previous position included many interactions with counterparts from Japan, Europe, and Mexico. I found this very intriguing; I had a feeling like I was keeping the world moving. My second long term goal is to develop my own company that I plan to have a firm that is rooted in the entertainment business because I have always been interested in the music and film industry. My primary focus would be in film, and music. To set myself apart from other companies I would have a very strong focus in Africa. I see the potential and talent in Africa. I feel like a lot of the world disregards the African entertainment industry, but there is plenty of opportunity. My business model will combine philanthropy, and entertainment. There are many less fortunate artists, and aspiring entertainers in Africa who need resources and support. I will able to changes and inspire…...

Essence of Paris

...The Essence of Paris By: Samantha Knowles Paris is a beautiful city with a history of prestige and grandeur, and French people put a lot of effort in preserving the glory they once had in the past. The Eiffel Tower sure contributes to its popularity and attracts millions of tourists each year. However, I think even if the Eiffel Tower never existed people would still come to see the beautiful city architecture and historical places, the fashion and the culinary and exquisite French culture. There is just something very attractive in the overall package. To say that the French revere their time spent soaking up arts and culture is an understatement. In Paris, loads of venues are accessible within a few square miles. It is common to find the French devoting their weekends to exploring the wealth of museums and cultural havens. Likewise, many of the provincial areas are blessed with impressive monuments to art and architecture. Paris' modern buildings have developed gradually out of earlier styles; palaces and mansions have survived by transforming into apartments and shops, and most streets harbor a range of buildings from various centuries. Paris traces a millennium of historic buildings, and what is amazing is that so much remains visible and integrally important to the way that Paris works, from the earliest Medieval period through the most contemporary constructions. The most important monument in Paris would have to be the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower is the...

American in Paris

...An American in Paris The movie I watched was An American in Paris. I chose this because I enjoy more of the older style musicals and it is interesting that in this time period that people were not one hundred percent focused on the war, but on musical entertainment. The 17 minute ballet sequence was incredible. It seemed like it would never end, yet was able to keep you entertained. It took one month to film and cost $500,000 to produce that one scene. I saw this question and was curious of when this scene would appear and I was surprised to see it was right at the end. The scene follows Jerry through Paris and he runs into a lot of people on his “trip”. It is like Jerry is in this dream/reality recapping his relationship with Lise. There are many types of dancing featured in these last seventeen minutes. From every scene, it is like he enters a different world inspired by famous artists. Jerry is in this constant struggle of his relationship with Lise and tries to win her back with his dancing. It is astounding that no words were sung or spoken; it was just pure musical instruments and dance. There were hundreds of dancers, not just Jerry. It looks very technical with all the dancers, but they all make it look so easy. A giant highlight in that scene is the vast amount of outfits. Their outfits are magnificent and everyone is wearing something very unique to that time period. The person that brought this scene and the whole movie to life was George Gershwin. George......

...Paris Paris – My Dream City France has always been the country known for love, romance and glamour, and its capital is no exception to the rule. No other city on earth can have the stunning beauty, the unique style, the culture, the breath-taking food and literally a lifestyle like Paris can. That’s why Paris has become my dream city to go traveled. I had a chance to visit my grandmother in France when I was 14, and I know Paris is a great place to relax. For instance, I can take a moment to get an ice cream and enjoy the walk through many beautiful gardens. The green grass, the beauties of colorful flowers along with the amazing sound from the birds create a stunning picture for every single person. Beside all the gardens Paris has, Marais also is one of the best places in Paris for entertainment. The Right Bank usually is filled with fun people like the silence drama or the clown. The Marais is full of quaint streets comprised of unique shops and brasseries. Because of this, it is a haven for all ages with every possible need being satisfied. Paris is not only known for the beauty of the Marais but it also known for its architectural. For example, the massive former palace, the bridges and many churches are all over the places. The Pantheon, the St. Denis, Sainte Chapelle and some of the most famous glass and light in the world, and of course, Notre Dame - the heart of Paris. Ready for an adventure in Paris he decides to get into the vehicle. Little does he know that he just stepped into a time portal transporting Gil back to the wonderful times of 1920’s Paris. Confused and full of awe, he assures himself that, “He was born too late.” While trying to figure out where he is, he runs into another young American couple, Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald, with whom he tags along with for the remainder of the night. Also introduced to Gil is one of his writing idols, Ernest Hemingway, which helps Gil get some personal insight on his novel, a work in progress that he has a hard time letting other people critique. As the night comes to an end, he wakes up in his hotel room back in modern time and later again tries repeating his transportation back into the 20’s. Again he sees the 20th century automobile approaching him once more, and is once again back in historical Paris. After meeting up with Hemingway,......
