PHI405- TOPIC PROPOSAL Subject: My Perspective about Hinduism
The History and traditions of Hinduism are both Ancient and Timeless. Hinduism is like a big Ocean and I am really not sure whether anybody apart from the Supreme itself knows it in its completeness. Even though these are my introductory words, people who dived into this ocean will really acknowledge the fact of it very much. Hinduism is not a Book of texts. It is the book of Knowledge and Experience. These two are endless and hence is the Hinduism. One may spend whole life in exploring the Hinduism but at the end one may have not seen the other bank of it. “Hinduism can also be described as Vaidika Dharma (Religion rooted in Vedas), Arya Dharma (Dharma of Aryans) and Manava Dharma (Religion of Humanity)” (Robinson, 23). Hinduism is a Grand mosaic of various Sampradayas, philosophies, mandirs, shastras, sadhus, devotees, holy places, ritual and festivals. It is often referred to by some scholars as a Family of Religions. The most attractive thought of Hinduism to me is Habits of Giving from Taittiriya Upanishad. These habits help me to feel real happiness of Giving.
“Taittiriya Upanishad says: “Give. Give with the faith. Give with sensitivity. Give with the feeling of abundance. Give with right understanding” (Robinson, 25). Hinduism is not only a Religion but it also a guideline to make one’s life meaning full. For all the Hindus there are four goals of their life. (Hinduism in our Life)
1) Dharma (Pray to God, Meaning of Life, Eternal knowledge)
2) Artha (Material gains by Lawful means)
3) Karma (Work to achieve goals and Artha)
4) Moksha (Release a soul from the cycle of rebirth)
Hinduism is ocean of nectar. Nobody should miss it. I am going to…...

My Opinion About About Marxism

...My opinion about about Marxism I will start by saying I admire both the great Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels whom through their ideas and inspiration gave birth to Marxism. Marx was a creative, idealist and a determinist scholar who was willing to change his mind when he's confronted with new ideas. I also believe that there were two Marx in the sense that the young Marx was more of revolutionist while the matured Marx was more of economist. I wouldn't want to discuss in details about Marx's ideas but I believe that he was one of the greatest political scientist in the seventh century whose theories about society, economics and politics created the term Marxism. Marx basically believed that human societies progress through class struggle: a conflict between an ownership class that controls production and a proletariat that provides the labour for production. He called capitalism the "dictatorship of the bourgeoisie," believing it to be run by the wealthy classes for their own benefit; and he predicted that, like previous socioeconomic systems, capitalism produced internal tensions which would lead to its self-destruction and replacement by a new system: socialism. He argued that under socialism society would be governed by the working class in what he called the "dictatorship of the proletariat", the "workers' state" or "workers' democracy". He believed that socialism would eventually be replaced by a stateless, classless society called communism. Yes it's true......

...MY EXPECTATIONS ABOUT MARKETING MANAGEMENT AND MY ESTIMATION ON HOW IT WILL HELP ME IN MY CAREER OR ENTREPRENEURSHIP PATH Marketing management is explained by the American Marketing Association (1985) as the process of planning and executing the conception, pricing, promotion and distribution of ideas, goods and services to create exchanges that satisfy individual and organisational objectives. As a managerial function marketing management is not solely important to the marketing manager only but also necessary to any individual who wishes to develop him or herself in his or her carrier and business. In pursuing this course, I expect to be equipped with knowledge in advertising, promotion, pricing and the distribution of ideas, goods and or services so as to be able to make an informed contribution when decisions concerning marketing in to be made. Knowledge in marketing management will equip me with skills that will make me innovative in my career by knowing which ideas to bring forth to get things working right. Specifically, ideas that will bring positive changes rather than following every decision on marketing made because of lack of knowledge in the field. I also expect to acquire knowledge in managerial skills that will widen my career options. Knowledge in marketing management may guarantee my selection for a job placement in the area of marketing or even better my chances of selection for placement in my career field because of the added knowledge which will......

I was raised in a troubled neighborhood where success was hardly a reality. Gunshots in the middle of the night from robbers, rape, illiteracy, crime, drugs, and prostitution were amongst the issues I grew within on a daily basis. I had bad and good friends. My parents had instilled in me a strong education mind set, so I knew education was going to be the key to my success. Story About My Literacy

...I was sitting in my room behind my computer and was looking and the blank screen on my laptop and was thinking to myself what story I should tell about my literacy? I’m not really sure if I can come up with anything! But then I start to think about the time when I was just a little kid, and I couldn’t read or write. I was very interested in reading since I was a child growing up in Iran. I remember that I was grabbing my mom or my dad magazine’s and look through all the pictures and wondering what is it saying? Then I would go to my dad and asking him to tell me what all these word surrounding these pictures means? So my dad was putting his glasses on while he was smiling at me and looked at the page that I was pointing at, then he start to read it to me loud and clear; at that point I was very jealous of my dad, that how can he read so well and I couldn’t ? and he would tell me that:”Don’t worry once you go to school they will teach you and you can read anything you want as good as me or even better”. My father explained to me that he felt books were very important and that I had been exposed to books from the beginning. I was read to by many family members such as aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. He also stressed that I was a very verbal child at a young age and had been around mostly adults for the first few years. My vocabulary started at about five months and by two years had clear structured sentences. As I was learning how to speak, I was also introduced to...

Speaking About My Life

... In my life I have always wanted to do many things actually, I have many dreams and many goals to accomplish. With the passage of time, the dreams we have always had and we forget that we can´t do it, we cease to trust us, we become realistic without ideals. We become a product, in a job , in figures , economy, belongings and forget the things that really one day want to get to get , which is why I always have in mind the aims and goals of my life because I feel that I can again believe , dream and create my future as I wish. If you ask me about the things I want to do before I die, I have a clear response to that, besides wanting graduating, traveling, having professional and economic success, have a family etc. I have a special purpose in my life and this includes my mom. Essay About "This Is My Livingroom"

...An essay about ”This is My Living Room” How much does it take before a man gets enough, enough of turning all of his surroundings into something bad? The narrator gives us an introduction to his life and he expresses life’s negative aspects through this short story. The theme of the story could be “Every man for himself” or “Every man is his own fortune”. These themes are reflected in the text as the narrator says: “People are as mean one place as they are another and they’re always out to get you”. Subsection “People”. “This is My Living Room” is a short story and it’s written by Tom McAfee in 1966. The story takes place in Pine Springs, Minnesota, in a neighborhood characterized by hostility and unreliability. But it highlights as well a family where old traditions are a part of the everyday life. This is reflected in the text when the narrator expresses his opinion about women and their rights. “Women are easier to handle. About the worst they can do is talk and what does that matter”. Subsection “People”. The narrator introduces himself as a smart man and a man that doesn’t believe in anyone but himself. He’s a man in late forties and between the lines; we can perceive him as a male chauvinist. There are likewise examples which describe him as a racist. “Niggers are better than anybody because you can handle them. They don’t hardly ever give you any trouble.” Subsection “People” His two girls Ellen Jean and Martha Kay are sixteen and fourteen years old. They......

My Project About Sociology

...be going to specific classrooms of the day and just try to blend in with the crowd and see how people will react. Perhaps the reactions will range from people whispering about how I look to the worst being the teacher will kick me out of class or tell me to go to the principal’s office because of my appearance. I predict that the major reaction I will be getting is someone making fun of me, which will lead to the teacher kicking me out of class. The norm will be taking place at school, which will take place in Choir class with Mr. White and Digital Journalism class with Mr. Bondurant. In Choir class, there will be different types of people observing me. The age range will be from 14 to 17 years old, all from different upbringings and cultures. In Digital Journalism, we will have a small class of 12, most know me but they will not know why I’m doing that. The youngest being 16 and the oldest being 17 in the class. As I entered Choir, I already felt the stares and whispers of the younger girls. When the older people of the class entered, they just gave me a thumbs-up and said I looked “cool.” So I felt a bit weird about violating the norm, because I felt out of place because of the reactions of the younger girls. But with the reactions of the older kids, I felt more confident and wanted to go on with my social experiment. What surprised me the most was Mr. White’s reaction—he didn’t have one. He never gave me a weird look; he just carried on with the class as if I......

My Ethical Perspective

...My Ethical Perspective Samantha Sacco Westminster Ethics add value to a person and in turn, to society. Ethics require a personal code, a set of beliefs and values that help us to make meaningful choices. The key word in this last statement is, “choice.” Perhaps the most beautiful aspect of humanity is the diversity of thought and lifestyle. I believe that ethics and diversity go hand in hand, as each individual has developed their codes based on their personal experiences and backgrounds. It is this fact that I do not believe in one set of ethics for all people, but rather a mix of ethics. I found each set of ethics interesting and could relate, on some level, to all of them. Behind each set of ethics, there is an underlying motive driving the choices that we make. Ancient philosophers believed that ethics were a means to perfecting human existence. The code that existed for the theorists of the ancients reflects the time that they lived. There is a comforting simplicity that was drawn in ancient ethics and in ideal world these ethics make sense, to me. For instance, Socrates compares human values to the tools of a carpenter, a carpenter must not only possess such tools, but he must know how to use his tools, in order to be successful (Euthyd. 280b-d) I love the idea of values being tools. Tools exist to build, our values also help us to build the existences we wish for ourselves and those around us. This fundamental idea is simple but profound and powerful when......

Leadership in My Perspective

...The Personal Leadership Style of Mary Ramos In our times of innovation and change, my personal leadership style involves a great deal of flexibility in order to lead in messy times. I have strived to create an environment that is warm and inviting as well as nurturing. As Michael Fullen states in his book, Leading in a Culture of Change, I want to “foster leadership in others, thereby making themselves dispensable in the long run”. I want to be a leader of leaders or a leader producer. In the chaos field of education, we will be tackled with many daily problems. I agree with the Heifetz (1994, p15 from Fullan p.3) in that we need to learn as leaders how to mobilize people to tackle “…tough problems”. Leadership is not so much in the solutions but in getting people to identify problems and mobilize them to address those problems. The book goes on to discuss convergence of many ideas and skills to be effective. The one type of leader is no longer effective in addressing many types of problems. I have added convergence as a descriptor of my leadership styles and will revisit that later. One component of this convergent style includes Moral Purpose. As a leader in education, I want to create an inviting learning environment in my school community where school is a positive place of many levels of environments coming together in a positive way. I want to create an environment where the teachers are open to discuss ideas and to see me as part of the team to facilitate positive......

Reflections About My Job

...that the skills I have are very important to my job and my coursework. There are so many different ways that I can present myself, especially in my job environment. Since I am trying to move up in my job, it really makes a difference how I present myself. It can also make a difference on how I can present to my classmates as well. I am always ready for a challenge, especially when it comes to my job. I knew from the start what I wanted to write my paper about. My job may not be interesting or sound fun to some people, but every day brings a new challenge. Some people may not be able to handle being on the phone 10 hours a day, but I really love it. The main goal of my paper was to make it easy to understand. I didn’t want the paper to be too long or too short. I knew I would have to keep the audience entertained , but I knew if it was too long they might get bored and if it was too short, I might not have had enough information for them to understand. I should always think about different ways to present myself, since I am getting ready to apply for a higher position at my current job. I am going for my interview in two weeks and have to explain why I am the person qualified for the job and why I want the job. PART B The three types of information I would put on a social media website to present myself in a professional manner would be: 1.) Experience: In this part, I would put some of my jobs I had in the past, and what my responsibilities were at those jobs. *......

My Personality from Three Perspectives

...Individual Assignment: My personality from Three Perspectives Individual Assignment: My personality from Three Perspectives It seems the most fascinating question of all among life’s big questions would be: “Who am I?” This question, recently, has been becoming one of the most topic that people keep talking about. “Be yourself”, “Understand yourself and you will understand others”, “What others think about you is not important as what you think about yourself”… they are some of the most popular quotes that have been shared among the social network recently. The bottom line question is, why people start to care about that topic. Actually it is not new that people ask themselves such these question, but before it was challenging to find the answer due to lack of knowledge or direction. Fortunately, thanks to all the theories developed by respected psychologists, we can use those theories as a guideline in order to analyses about ourselves. I, as a mortal, always wonder who I am and why I think, feel and behave like I do every day. Basically, I want know what make me a unique individual and how I differentiate from the others. In psychology, they call it “personality”. There are variety of perspectives to explain one’s personality; and in this essay, I will analyses my own personality based on three different theories of three psychologist: Adler, Eysenck and Kelly. My Perspective on Facebook

...My Perspective on Facebook ------------------------------------------------- Sharon D. Walters Saint Leo University English 122 Dr. Askew November 8, 2011 Mark Zuckerberg and a few of his friends at Harvard University created Facebook in 2004. They were searching for a means to fulfill their college yearbook. Today the socializing network has over 750 million users all over the world. In January 2011, Facebook was the second most visited website in the United States. Some people spend hours daily browsing through other people’s profiles. I also know people that cannot stand it when I mention Facebook. Some people despise Facebook because they or someone they know have broken up with a boyfriend, girlfriend or even a spouse over something personal which was posted on the socializing network. I have a 23 year old daughter who is a senior at West Georgia University. We stay in touch a good majority of the time via Facebook. If she is hanging out with her friends, she will call or text me to check out her new hairdo or her dress attire on her Facebook page. I also use Facebook to monitor my 14 year old son’s activities. I have never let it be known to him that I monitor what’s on his mind through his Facebook page. Occasionally, I also click on his friends’ page to examine their activities. Their Facebook page gives me insight as to the type of influence they may have on my son. I use Facebook to send friends and family members Birthday, Anniversary and......

My Perspective

...The perspective that I’m writing about that “fits” or is the closest to my own way of thinking is the humanistic theory. I chose to write about this because I agree with Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow in that people are generally motivated to improve or achieve the highest level of success that an individual can. Even though Carl Rodgers believed that the actualizing tendency applied to all organisms and not just humans, I figured he deserved to be mentioned along with Abraham Maslow beings they both were on the same track together. Rodgers and Maslow held that human beings are inherently good and seek the good in their lives. I like the fact that every human being on this planet is responsible for achieving their own level of success, whatever that might be to each individual. Maslow’s also believes that in order to achieve self-actualization, all the other needs need to be met and satisfied in a hierarchical order: beginning with a person’s basic needs, moving toward safety, then belonging and finally to esteem. To me this was a nail hit right on the head, because you wouldn’t be able to move forward or help anybody else until these things are done first. Humanistic psychology helped remove the stigma attached to therapy, and made it easier for healthy normal individuals to be able to explore their abilities and their potential through therapy. This......

A Little About My Life

...Ohio to Corbin, Kentucky to take care of my grandfather. I ended up dropping out of school at the end of my junior year, at the age of seventeen due to the circumstances. After awhile, I decided to move back home and sought out a way to get my high school diploma, which I managed to obtain through an online high school based out of Columbus, Ohio at the age of twenty. I liked a variety of things about school, never really disliked anything. The only thing I found to be challenging was to have to sit in a classroom with several other students, I never could stay focused. That’s why I love the fact that I can farther my education online. I don’t really have a career history because I have only worked one serious job. That would be in a retail store called Kroger as a Customer Service Helper/Representative. I had many duties such as: Floor Supervisor, basic accounting, running a register, answering phones, and many more. I loved my job I had there, especially my customers that always found a way to keep my days going and grinning big. With my degree, I plan to one day be able to open my own day care facility with a nursing station and head start. But I still have a long ways to go before that day comes. As of now, I have some spare time on my hands with being unemployed. I love not having a job to earn money because I am a first and full time mommy and housewife. I enjoy spending every second of the day with my baby boy, Bailey, which will be......
