...Four classes of flagellar arrangement: Flagella are the extended, lash-like projections protruding from bacteria that move said bacteria towards food and etc… Most cocci bacteria are non-motile (have no flagella). Each class of flagella has a distinct number of flagella and where the flagella are located on the bacteria is unique to each class. First there is the Monotrichous class. This class ha a single polar flagellum on one end of the bacteria or the other, an example of this is the Vibro Cholerae bacteria. Next there is the Amphitricous class. This class has one flagellum at both ends of the bacteria; an example of this class is the Alcaligenes Faecalis bacteria. The third class is that of Lophotrichous. The bacteria in this class have a tuft (multiple) flagella at one of the ends of the bacteria, or tufts at both ends of the bacteria. An example of Lophotrichous bacteria is Spirilla. The fourth and final class is Peritricous. Peritricous bacteria have flagella surrounding the cell on all sides of the bacterium. This is evidence on the Typhoid bacilli. Inoculating with a needle vs a loop: When there is a liquid medium or during plating is when an inoculating loop is used. With a soft agar medium the inoculating needle is used to transfer specimens. A sterile needle generates a sharply well-defined stab line when used to inoculate a motility tube. This permits growth to move along this stab line and thus becomes visible which specifies that the......

...LYT2-Task 3 Assess and Adopt a Virtualization Adoption Plan What is Virtualization? Virtualization, in computing, refers to the act of creating a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, including but not limited to a virtual computer hardware, platform, operating system (OS), storage device or computer network resources. Hardware virtualization or platform virtualization refers to the creation of a virtual machine that acts like a real computer with an operating system. Software executed on these virtual machines is separated from the underlying hardware resources. For example, a computer that is running Microsoft Windows  can host a virtual machine within it and can load Linux (Ubuntu) that looks like a computer with the the operating system Ubuntu Linux. i.e. both operating systems Microsoft Windows and Linux can be loaded in the same machine with Ubuntu Linux is in the virtual machine. Ubuntu-based software can be run on the virtual machine. Server Virtualization: This refers to creating a server in the cloud for example Amazon Web Services where virtual servers can be created and can be accesses as a service. 1. Description about how the benefits of virtualization would impact the city of Seabreeze. The city has a Physical server environment which consists of 72 servers, the storage environment of DAS (Direct Attach Storage) and 350 desktop or end computers. This setup can be virtualized by purchasing space for storage, server and end computing. This...

Hg releases oxygen for CO2 and affects pH levels. Normal pH range is 7.2 - 7.4 ↓ pH causes ↑ in the amount of oxygen being released in hemoglobin. An elevated pH will cause the oxygen to bind the hemoglobin proteins in RBCs. ("Hemoglobin," n.d.) RBCs are round cells that have concaved centers. They are flexible making it easy to move through blood vessels. Sickle cell RBC's are developed from mutations in DNA - mRNA transcriptions. They are crescent shape and become fibrous. This causes them to stick to one another. Once they begin to stick, the deoxygenated cells are unable to travel to the lungs to receive oxygen. As the CO2 builds up this causes lack of oxygen to the tissues causing pain. Sickle Cell cells also cause anemia due to the fact cells die faster than normal RBCs. Sickle cell disease is an inherited autosomal recessive pattern disorder. For a child to inherit the disease both parents must have the trait...

...Unit 3- Introduction to marketing Task 1 Cadbury’s and Matalan have a lot of aims and objectives in which they need to target. The difference between an aim and an objective is that is that an objective is short term target as well as they help companies to reach their aim, which is a long term target used to make a business successful. Cadbury’s One of their objectives is that they aim to bring out a new product every year. This is a specific goal because it is well laid out and will gain more profit from the customers. It can also be said that it is measurable because, if the company waits until everyone has brought the product then brings out a new product, it can be an indicator to whether the customers have liked the old product enough to buy the latest product being sold. This can be achievable because, a lot of businesses use this as an objective but the way Cadbury do it efficiently is that they are always ahead and instead of doing the improvements to the new product when the old one has stopped being brought, Cadbury do the improvements to the upcoming product while the latest product has just been released. Another objective is that they exploit technology so therefore, they can upgrade their growth and quality of products. This goal is specific in the way that it is more efficient and saves time for the business to work on more things such as the product which has not been retailed yet or improving the latest product. It has to be measured in a way which......

...There are many entrepreneurs who come together as an organization and build an entrepreneurial culture to seek opportunities for innovations. An entrepreneurial culture is an environment where entrepreneurs are inspired to create new innovations. Innovation is basically to have a new idea, to change something from the old and make it new. The way people interact with one another and recognize their environment is all a part of a culture. In a business industry setting, entrepreneurial cultures are defined as the business owners getting together to inspire each other to brainstorm new ideas/ products, innovations. There are many companies out there that exemplify innovation. One that comes to mind and I believe everyone can agree is Apple Inc. Apple is known for their cell phones, however they are always improving. How many new phones have they come out with in just the last 2 years? They have phones with different data storage, different sizes, and they are always adding new ways to appease the consumer. But why is innovation important? I have listed a few examples stating why entrepreneurial organizations seek out probabilities for new innovation. One reason these entrepreneurial organizations seek opportunities for innovation is to offer their consumers new products/services. Their development of new products and approaches sharpens the industry which is in the long run is valuable to the consumer. New products and services are the essence of all businesses. This is......

...A. The Rise of Imperialism in India. In the 1600's, the trade business was booming, India's rich resources in materials and man power enticed several European country's interest. The subcontinent, at the time, had many colonies with leaders that were not unified. They also had many years of internal conflict that weakened their government making it an attractive target to be taken over. It was England, in the end, that overthrew India's government and claimed her for England. They did this by first dominating the trade business. Then raised an army called the British East India Company, led by Robert Clive. The Mughal Empire was weak and vulnerable after years of internal conflict between Muslims and Hindus. The English took advantage of the situation using the Mughal empire to establish their administration and the Sepoy Indians to help enforce their rule. A1. The Reaction of the Indigenous people. The natives were reluctant bystanders to the change in leadership. The Indian people also resented the constant racism that the British expressed towards them (Roda, 2013). As the British continued to expand their ideas and power over the Indians, they were insensitive to the native traditions and customs. As an example of this, the Sepoy Indian army, which consists mostly of Muslims and Hindus, were supplied with bullet cartridges greased with pork and beef fat. Both animals are regarded as sacred or forbidden in Hindu and Islamic culture. This caused a revolt on May...

...Task 2: Misrepresentation In this task I will be describing the law with respect to misrepresentation in a given situation, I am also going to be identifying factors which invalidate and vitiate contracts with regards to misrepresentation. “Misrepresentation is a tort, or a civil wrong. This means that a misrepresentationcan create civil liability if it results in a pecuniary loss. For example, assume that areal estate speculator owns swampland but advertises it as valuable commerciallyzoned land. This is a misrepresentation. If someone buys the land relying on thespeculator's statement that it is commercially valuable, the buyer may sue thespeculator for monetary losses resulting from the purchase.” http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/misrepresentation The effect of a finding of misrepresentation is the contract is voidable which means that the contract exists but it can be set to aside by the representee. The solution available depends on the type of misrepresentation, but generally consists of recession and or damages. In some circumstances the right to rescind the contract can be lost. The law that relates to misrepresentation is found in common law with the misrepresentation Act 1967. There are 3 types of misrepresentation: innocent misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation and fraudulent misrepresentation. Once it has been established that a false statement was made and that it induced the contract, it needs to be decided what type of......

...Presenter notes Slide 1: Title Slide 2: The Utah Opera is an adhocracy culture. An adhocracy culture is one that is externally focused and values flexibility. This type of culture is adaptable, creative, and reacts to change quickly (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2010). The opera shows these qualities in their culture. The opera values flexibility, and has tailored their business model to allow for adjustments in both the size of the opera and fundraising projects. This allows for them adjust their operations in a timely manner as needed in order to meet profitability goals. The general nature of the opera fosters the creativity that is required for the adhocracy culture, since they are an arts program. The opera focuses less on their budget and more on their fixed assets than the symphony. The opera is also externally focused out of need. A majority of their income comes from ticket sales, so they must deliver enough high-quality performances to please the customers. Additionally, the opera is structured in such a way that decisions lie with a variety of directors who have the skills and knowledge to make decisions about their departments (DeLong, 2005). The Utah Symphony is a hierarchy culture. A hierarchy culture is one that is internally focused and emphasizes stability and control. They value standardization, control, and a well-defined structure for authority and decision making. This is supported by having Chairman of the board and a music director. The hierarchy...
