''I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand , as in what direction we are moving : to reach the port of heaven , we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes agaist it , but we must sail ,and not drift , nor lie at anchor'' Michael Gates , a young man and Damien Weston his embittered antagonist ,dies in a horrific accident they awaken to view heaven and all it's splendors. glorious sights are witnessed and love abounds. but more is transpiring than meets the eye , each person in heaven will be confronted by past hurts and must choose to forgive for that is the only way to remain in heaven our first 22 days in heaven confronts the issues of hate , love and their battle to reign supreme.
The young protagonist an inexperienced teen just learning to drive is killed in a tragic auto accident that also takes his mother and sister as well as a couple in an oncoming car. the accident is caused by his swerving into anotherlane to avoid hitting a little girl on a runaway trycycle in the antechambers of heaven , described in dazzling and delightful detail , there are monuments to great things done for god in this life. our young driver has an monument inscription ''greater love has no one than this to lay down one's life for one's friends''.
To his heroic sacrifice of his own life to save the child he reflexively did what he could to avoid hitting the child , a good and natural reaction normally , but he sacrificed four other lives , just as valuable to god and others as that of the child without their consent , there is nothing heroic in this , just a tragic set of circumstances and certainly nothing to be rewarded for with an external monument in heaven.
Overall i highly recommend this book because scriptures are used to support a interesting story about what god could hold in store for us in heaven. it also does a good job in telling how…...

...wars as it has ended? What emotion has had more plays, songs, and stories written about it than anything else? Love, that one emotion that makes enemies into friends and friends into enemies. So many legends surround this emotion, from the goddess Athena and Helen of Troy to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Love comes in so many different levels, that it doesn't appear to be the same emotion at all, but it is. There is so much to love, that it will be hard to put into this simple essay. It can tear people apart and make us do irrational things to bringing together entire nations. What can this emotion not do? It's hard to tell, but there is a lot it can. This emotion, bring tears to our eyes when something happens to our family members, friends, and pets. When we feel love ripped from us, as in death or being spurned by another, we do things we wouldn't normally do, such as go on violent rampages, or mourn to the extent that our loved ones have to watch us constantly to make sure we don't try anything like suicide. Some can move on, always remembering the lost loved one after a while, but others can not let go. These are the ones that need our love and support the most. There are so many levels to love, that I can only express a few of them here. These are the ones we see most in life. Friendship starts this list off. Yes, it doesn't seem like it, but we do feel love towards our friends, this is what helps us get along so well, and why we miss them when we don't see......

Love

...Love is a universal feeling or emotion and every human on this earth loves someone. It is not necessary that love exists only between opposite sexes but love is there between human kind, between brothers, between sisters, between brothers and sisters, between parents and children, between husband and wife, between neighbours, between nations, between all relations and love also exists between humans and other living beings such as animals. Therefore, nobody can deny the existence of love in this world. Sometimes you need to describe the love you have for someone in words. At that time, you are in need of appropriate style and words through which you can deliver your feelings of love in form of essay on love. The question that comes to your mind at that time is how to write an essay about love? To write an essay about love, you have to follow some general steps of writing an essay. You have to follow the pattern of introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion. In the introduction part, you have the introduce the topic of your essay on love and also have to give some introduction of the person for whom you are going to write essay about love. It is not necessary that your essay about love is for some particular person; your essay about love can be a general essay for all the living beings of the earth just for showing your good feelings of love and harmony towards all the creation of God. If your essay about love is a general essay, you have to describe love in your own words;......

The World Is Not Enough

...The World is Not Enough: Globalization, Guns, and Greed by Kathryn E Smith “…trade cannot be maintained without war or war without trade.”[1] Globalization is defined in many ways, and although it has been expanding and contracting over thousands of years, it has only in the past two centuries become a topic of such interest. Many think of globalization as “primarily a monetary phenomenon,”[2] and although most definitions of globalization do only concern trade, it is more broadly “the process by which different regions of the world affect one another economically, politically, or culturally.”[3] Today, military might is paramount in the expansion of globalization. It may seem cynical to those raised in American high schools and higher education institutions to say that “the hidden hand of the market will never work without a hidden fist.”[4] And yet, truly “McDonald’s cannot flourish without McDonnell Douglas, the designer of the F-15. And the hidden fist that keeps the world safe for Silicon Valley’s technologies is called the United States Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps.”[5] Historically, this military protection of commercial interests has great precedence. As far back as the ancient city-states of Venice and Genoa, powerful navies were the basis of wealth.[6] In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the Qing Dynasty of China pursued imperialist expansion, and conquered no less than four independent nations.[7] British......

Love

...Love is beautiful. Love is unconditional. Love is non judgemental. Love is care. Love is acceptance. Love is bliss. Love is pure. Love is serene. Love is calm. Love is silent. Love is not I, me or you. Love is us. Love is not wanting or expecting, Love is giving and accepting. Love is a strength that gives you courage to stand and act in a situation when you don’t even have the capacity to move. Love is a vibration that makes you strong. Love is a signal that binds the souls together. What I feel for my mother is Love. What I feel for my father is Love. What I feel for my sister is Love. What I feel for my brother is Love. What I feel for my grandparents is Love. But I don’t know how to show this Love. I never kissed my brother, or hugged my sister unoccassionaly or thanked my parents unreasonably or gifted my grandparents ever. I just don’t need these gestures to show my unconditional emotion to them. Do I? Dressed in a gorgeous piece came my princess and asked, “How am I looking Di?” And my “Yeah!!” Is enough for her to know that she is looking “Just Perfect”. On the Christmas Eve this year, a bundle of beautifully packed gift lied under my pillow. Holding them in my hands I rushed to my father and said, “Papa!! Santa gave me this”. And he knows that I was thanking MY PAPA SANTA. No matter how much treacherous our fights may be, and the next moment we are together playing Subway Surfers. This is my brother. Do I need to tell him SORRY explicitly? NO. Long days......

Love

... 10/14/2013 When I think of the word love it gives me chills because this is a powerful word. Today I am going to talk about the three people in this world that I know and have knowledge that they love me. They are my husband and my two sons. I have had a lot of people to ask me how you know for a fact that your husband loves you. That answer is very clear and simple to me, because its not just one thing he does to show me its many things. When I look at my husband I see a forever with him. We have been married almost nine years now and were just as in love today as we were nine years ago. We still tell each other how much we love each other on a daily basis. We write each other love poems to each other. We love to do everything together. We have our moments when we just look at each other and gaze into each other’s eyes and just smile. Even though we have been so long we still talk about our future together and how we can make it better. He loves to plan things in advance and he loves to reassure me that there is a future for us together. Every year since we have been married he has wanted to renew our vows, because he say that he would remarry me every day if he could. He always gives me compliments on a daily even if I know I look a hot mess he tells me how beautiful I am. He loves to talk and he is very kind and gentle with me. I have never met anyone that opened up to me like...

Enough

..."Enough" Remember those time we had The good, the happy and sad I never thought we got around When things went tumbling down I guess we got lonely There was no one else for us to turn to ‘Cause I don’t need you any longer ‘cause now I’m stronger Enough no more It’s time for you to be on your way Time’s up. Get out No need for us to figure it out Let go. Move on. It’s time to go our separate ways Enough be gone The hurt and pain will only remain Stop tryin’ to call me Stop messin’ with my mind Oh why can’t you see? That there’s nothing else you will find ‘cause we’ll only keep on fighting And our hearts will only keep on hurting Tell me who are we fooling with our selfish pride So… Enough no more It’s time for you to be on your way Time’s up. Get out No need for us to figure it out Let go. Move on. It’s time to go our separate ways Enough be gone The hurt and pain will only remain Stay away – that’s the only way It’s gonna get better Till the clouds settle Find a way – for our hearts to be sober And someday I hope and I pray Maybe we could be good friends Take a turn at this dead end This is enough Yeah we fuss and fight What a damage we’ve done And I knew that we ain’t gon’ make it right Looking at the mirror This body and mind is wasted And now I just feel so ashamed to feel like I’ve be chasing The love I never thought would last I guess that was the past I remember all the memories and things we used to have ...

When Is Enough Really Enough

...When is Enough Really Enough I was inspired by John Updike because he expresses his peculiar passion for golf bliss for golf was a unique way he takes us through his passion not telling you why he likes it but how it is played and the aspects that make it so unique. Most people do not think about when thinking about all the little details involved in a passion. His since of style along with detail for every key component and concept that goes into the game is what makes his writing so much different for all the other I have read. For a long time I never knew that one person could change your life in such a way that it shapes your future. I never knew such a passion for running could be ignited by something that you never thought or saw yourself doing and by someone you could only know for a year. It was not until I was twelve and in junior high school that I found a peculiar joy with running track. Running hurdles was the most difficult of all the runs. Having to accurately time your jump and leg swing in order to clear the hurdle and make sure you did not lose any speed or hit the person next you presented a great degree difficulty. The size of the lanes always felt insufficient to the size of the hurdle, which made you feel that you were going to plummet. The most invigorating feeling was when you heard the popping of the starting gun, and then your heart would race as the sound ignites your senses and adrenaline running through your veins. Although hurdles were one......

Is a Scholarship Enough

...Is a Scholarship Enough? There are approximately 319 million people living in the United States, but there are approximately 482 million people in China that work in sweatshops. These people make less than two dollars a day. Often times hundreds of people are working in one big room, smells of sweat, tears, and a low sense of moral fill the air. We are talking about hard working people that work hard for their money, but get treated so poorly. A hardworking man goes and clocks in to make a better future for himself, and he has enough to barely get by on a day to day basis. This is just inhumane and coldhearted. It is easy for us to look down on China for doing this to their people, however; we treat our student athletes in the same manner. These student athletes struggle daily with the same problem. Juggling at least twelve hours of credits, with at least ten hours of practice a week, not including games. How can a student athlete possibly have time for a job? These students barely have enough time to study. Practice is often times long and hard, and once that is over with it is time to study or do homework. Sleep? As a student athlete there is no such thing as sleep. Sleep is just one of the thousands of things college athletes have to worry about. Also, earning extra money can be an almost impossible feat with the lack of extra time in a week. In a paraphrase of a famous rapper named Jay Z, “College athletes have 99 problems, and money is one.” When it comes to college,......

Enough

...'Enough,'' a jarring thriller packed to the gills with cheap shocks, suggests the emergence of a new Hollywood subgenre: the male yuppie horror film. The unspoken premise behind it suggests that a new generation of cold young men has arisen who are so obsessed with fattening their portfolios and chiseling their abs that they have forgotten to grow souls. And yes, that premise probably contains a tiny grain of truth. Out of this grain, however, the movie has conceived a caricature even more monstrous than Glenn Close's voracious Medusa in ''Fatal Attraction.'' On a certain tit-for-tat level, ''Enough'' might even be seen as a feminist revenge for the stereotyping in ''Fatal Attraction,'' even though both films were written and directed by men. The movie, which opens today nationwide, also exploits an ugly undercurrent of class warfare. Its star, Jennifer Lopez, plays a spunky working-class woman suckered into marriage with a rich yuppie master of the universe who brutally abuses her. In the movie's climax, she faces down her husband in one-on-one combat, armed with brass knuckles and fortified by a crash course in martial arts. Will honest working-class pluck and self-reliance triumph over spoiled upper-class privilege? You don't have to ask. Throughout, Ms. Lopez holds the screen in a star performance that has less to do with acting than with embodying a forceful, streetwise woman who stands up for herself. The movie's yuppie monster, versions of which you may......

Blind Is Not Enough

...Ariel Johnson CRTW 187 Final Project Blind Is Not Enough Dear Doctor Pritchard, I am sad to inform you that these are my final hours. I believe it my duty to tell you, my most loyal doctor—and though it may not be appropriate—I dare to call you my dear friend. I have come to conclusion that my life must end today. This may come as a surprise to you, I’m sure, but there is nothing left for me now. I suppose you would be wondering why? I fear I have not been entirely truthful with you, though, I assure you my dishonesty was not always on purpose, as you will see. You see, there are parts of my life’s story I have left out of our sessions and I believe it is time you learned the truth, as have I. My name is not John Hatchet but rather Julio Antonio Hernandez-Bulkeley de a Villa Llorando Tortuga. My mother, born Mary Marie Bulkeley, a woman of Welsh descent, met my father Marceliano Estévan Hernandez, an Argentinean, in Peru. My father was on business and my mother was said to be on a church trip to help the homeless. My mother had been wandering through the market place when she quite literally ran into my father. As my father tells it, “I felt her sweet hand brush against my wrist, just below my gold watch, and I knew at that moment I never wanted her to leave my sight again.” My father took her back to live with him on his cattle ranch and that is where I raised, knee deep in manure, from the day I was born until the age of thirteen. This you know to be true, in part. I......

Love Is Not Enough

...wrote a song called, “All You Need is Love.” He also beat both of his wives, abandoned one of his children, verbally abused his gay Jewish manager with homophobic and anti-semitic slurs, and once had a camera crew film him lying naked in his bed for an entire day. Thirty-five years later, Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails wrote a song called “Love is Not Enough.” Reznor, despite being famous for his shocking stage performances and his grotesque and disturbing videos, got clean from all drugs and alcohol, married one woman, had two children with her, and then cancelled entire albums and tours so that he could stay home and be a good husband and father. One of these two men had a clear and realistic understanding of love. One of them did not. One of these men idealized love as the solution to all of his problems. One of them did not. One of these men was probably a narcissistic asshole. One of them was not. In our culture, many of us idealize love. We see it as some lofty cure-all for all of life’s problems. Our movies and our stories and our history all celebrate it as life’s ultimate goal, the final solution for all of our pain and struggle. And because we idealize love, we overestimate it. As a result, our relationships pay a price. When we believe that “all we need is love,” then like Lennon, we’re more likely to ignore fundamental values such as respect, humility and commitment towards the people we care about. After all, if love solves everything, then why......

...not here. I love you not because you love me but because you taught me everything I never knew existed before. 0103. When you leave, remember the place where you left me cause I’ll still be there waiting for you. But if you go back and I’m no longer there, it means that I love you too much so I went to search for you.  0104. It’s a risk having you cause it’s like stealing an angel from heaven. If I’d be punished for that, I’d rather accept it than give you back cause I know that I’d never have another you in my life again.  0105. I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance, a church filled with flowers and friends. I asked him what kind of wedding he wished for, he said, “One that will make you my wife.”  0106. I’m not asking you to stay for the rest of my life, stay as long as you want. No why’s, no how’s, no but’s, no promises. Just stay. It’s more than enough.  0107. I’m not sure what I am to you and what we are right now but what really matters is you’re so damn special to me and I mean my life only for you. All I’m after is for you to know, you don’t have to feel the same. 0108. I may not be with you always but I promise you one thing. I’m gonna be there on your wedding day and I’m gonna sit beside you while saying the words, “Yes, Father. I do.”  0109. Written with a pen, sealed with a kiss. If you love me, please answer you did. Love

...Nothing can come close to the love that a mother feels for her children. Most women are inherently excellent mothers. Women carry their young before they are born and then continue to nurture them throughout their childhood and even into adulthood. Mothers make sure that their children are safe and happy throughout their childhood. It is the unconditional love that a mother feels that drives these feelings. It is hard to describe the feeling that a mother has towards her children. In fact, most people do not understand unless they become a mother themselves. Raising children comes with its own share of frustrations, from the needy new born baby that requires regular care to the sullen teenager, a mother's job is anything but easy. A famous saying states that "God could not be everywhere and so he invented mothers", these words are a great inspiration to mothers across the world. When all is well, a mother puts her children before anything else, including their own comfort and happiness. Mothers give an awful lot of support to their children, whether it involves very visible support or simple background encouragement. Not only do mothers support their children, but they also often hold the whole family structure together. This role is not always plain sailing. A mother can also be upset or hurt. Remember that a mother often takes the fallout for the toddler tantrums and the teenage angst. Despite this, mothers, generally, will love their children no matter what they do.......
