If you’re a student attending classes, you have probably experienced many moments when it was hard to make yourself settle down and study, even when an important exam was coming up. If you’re like most students, you put off studying until the very last minute. The night before the exam, you’ll stay up all night cramming, getting little or no sleep. In the morning, you’ll drag yourself out of bed, wake yourself up with lots of coffee or sometimes some cigarettes, and go into the exam feeling exhausted, stressed out and nervous all at the same time. You’ll find it hard to focus or think, and you’ll be cursing yourself for not starting to study sooner. And not surprisingly, unless you’re blessed with natural brilliance, or you happen to know the subject matter extremely well, you’ll probably do terribly on the test.
If this is your typical method of studying, you already know it doesn’t work. Every time you go through this ritual, you tell yourself that you’re going to smarten up the next time you face a big exam. Next time you’ll start to study weeks in advance, you say. But instead, you keep repeating this crazy pattern. Why does this keep happening? And what should you be doing instead if you want to get better marks?
Well in this study, it will not just evaluate each student’s performance in studying, but also try to know what improvements they should do as well as show correlations about several things that affect their studies either into bad ones or good ones. If you have been guilty of all these bad study habits, it’s not too late to learn some other habits that will work better for you. Learning begins when we are born and ends when we die. How we learn is a complicated process. Depending on whose research you read, there are varied opinions as to how many styles of learning there are. In 1992 Neil Fleming designed a tool to identify individual’s preferences for learning which he named VARK. VARK is an acronym for Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, and Kinesthetic. Answers from a questionnaire are tallied. Based on the responses, it is then determined where a person’s preferences fall. VARK can be used to develop strategies for learning and improving communication. The results point out how one takes in information, processes that information and is able to communicate the information to other people. In the most recent questionnaire the learner’s results showed a four-part or multimodal learning profile. The four scores were high enough and similar enough that the learner can approach learning in many different ways. They have each mode available depending on what is being presented. I always feel like I am busy and always on the go. I work full time, school, and of course cleaning, cooking, and keeping up my house hold. As much as I feel I am always moving and on the go, I feel like I should be in better shape, but I’m not. This course has helped me learn to be healthier and in better shape, with not a lot of changes. My daily exercise habits are pretty minimal. I start in the morning with stretching then getting ready for work. I then come home and clean the house and cook. I then try and take an evening walk or jog. I just got my Insanity DVD’s back so I have started doing that as well. It is a 40 minute workout that I do in the evening. I enjoy doing this rather than walking or jogging, especially since it is getting so hot outside. I do not get a lot of exercise at work because I sit at a desk all day, but I make up for it when I get home by cleaning and my evening jog. One day a week I deep clean my house. This seems to really get my heart pumping because I dance around the house while doing so. Prior to the post war era, there was very little debate regarding the learning differences between adults and children.
