Abstract Leadership has many dimensions and leaders have many factors that make them who they are, whether great or small. Leaders are shaped, molded and brought to their fullness by their perceptions of the world, their life experiences, people they have encountered along the way and how they develop their capabilities.

Current View of Leadership Fortunately, this learner has had the opportunity to make an informed decision about how
I perceive leadership. To this learner Leadership is the ability to take charge of a situation and move individuals to act on issues or situations they might normally never consider taking action on. It is this learner’s belief that some people are born to be great leader and other are taught to be leaders. According to Daft (2008) the traits theory focuses on the concept that great men/ leaders have certain inherent traits that make them destine for greatness. I support this belief.

My Life Experiences that have shaped my view This learner was a teenager during the Civil Rights Movement and was able to view first-hand the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I believed and still hold to the belief that Dr. King was born to be the Leader for that particular time in history. His example of using peaceful measures influenced my thinking and my view of leadership. I participated in and lead peaceful student demonstration in the high school I attended using Dr. Kings principles. My view of leadership is one of diplomacy using measure that will draw individuals in to support the goals of an organization and commit to working together for the organization we are a part of.

Who and what has shaped my values and philosophy of Leadership Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. played a large role in the shaping of my philosophy and values about leadership. My mother is the other…...

References Biography Deming was a well known professor who taught at New York University Graduate school of Business and Administration and at Columbia University. One of Deming’s ideas on quality control was prominent in Japan. Deming philosophy and teaching where shown by examining the kind of results of how much was produced after it was adopted by any other industry. This was known as the Deming System which is a very effective method. Ford Motor Company adopted Deming's idea which was called quality / culture". Deming's famous Management-Program consists of 14 points for improvement and 7 of things to be avoided. Most of these points are trivial. Deming created this idea quality / culture in 1930. This helped the Ford Motor Company because it was making a car model with transmission made in U.S. and Japan. Customers wanted U.S cars with japans transmission but the parts were not compatible until they went ahead and changed every part. Deming System The idea of W. ...What is a biography? A biography is a written account of the series of events that make up a person's life. Every student will write a biography at some point, but the level of detail and sophistication will differ. A fourth grade biography will be much different from a middle school-level biography or a high school or college-level biography. However, each biography will include the basic details. The first information you should gather in your research will include biographical details and facts. You must use a trustworthy resource to ensure that your information is accurate. Basic details include: * Date and place of birth and death * Family information * Lifetime accomplishments * Major events of life * Effects/impact on society, historical significance While this information is necessary to your project, these dry facts, on their own, don't really make a very good biography. Once you've found these basics, you'll want to dig a little deeper. You choose a certain person because you think he or she is interesting, so you certainly don't want to burden your paper with an inventory of boring facts. Your goal is to impress your reader! You'll want to start off with great first sentence. It's a good idea to begin with a really interesting statement, a little known fact, or really intriguing event. You should avoid starting out with a standard but boring line like: "Meriwether Lewis was born in Virginia in 1774." Instead, try starting with......

...Sheri Gualandi ECON111 Denise Stauthammer Biography November 9, 2014 Lower Gas Prices Possible Boost to the Economy The end of October 2014 brought with it lower gas prices for American consumers. It has been a very long time since gas prices have been below $3.00 per gallon at the pump and the benefits of the lower prices will help the American people from all walks of life ranging from people who live paycheck to paycheck, people on fixed incomes, and college students. The money saved from the lower gas prices will be an opportunity for people to spend more on things that may be considered little extras like dinner out, going to the movies, or taking in a concert. With the holiday months approaching, the extra money saved from not having to pay so much at the pump will allow for people to splurge and buy that special gift that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to. While the lower gas prices are helping American consumers, the oil industry is taking a hit due to the lower crude prices. These lower crude prices are also helping industries such as farmers, trucking companies, railroads, and airlines. Prices at the grocery store as well as many other retailers will decline because they will also save money with lower fuel surcharges that tend to fluctuate with the cost for fuel. Lower crude prices will also help consumers save money on home heating costs this winter which will translate into more extra spending. More spending will help our economy rebound even more...

...Michael Craig UNV103 - 0508 August 28, 2015 Kyle Hedden Michael Craig - Biography Hello Class! My name is Michael Craig. This is my first semester in college I am working towards obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. I decided to go back to school because I was working for a company that went out of business and I found that I needed to get a degree in order to keep doing what I love doing most and that is working in an accounting office. Going back in school has been challenging for me because it has been a long time since I have gone to school. It was pretty intimidating for me to go through the enrollment process, because I kept questioning whether I could cut it this late in life. I am presently unemployed because the company I was working for went out of business. I previously worked for a full service restoration company (construction). I started out working as the administrative assistant for the CFO and from there I moved onto other positions. The position I loved doing the most was in the accounting office and that is the reason I decided to go back to school and get a degree in accounting. The things I enjoy doing with my spare time are spending quality time with family, going fishing with my sister and brother in law on their boat, racquet ball, and volley ball. I also enjoy going out to eat and maybe catching a good movie on the weekends. I have not done a lot of traveling in my life. My family has always tried to take me with them when they go......

...Teresa Durstine PSYC 250 – DOL 1 Professor Stone October 28, 2013 Beyond Biography A person’s character and personality will leave a great impression on others. Although some of these impressions are positive ones; however, others may be negative. A person’s childhood will often have a great influence on a person’s personality and character. An individual’s identity will be a reflection of their religious beliefs, ethnic background, gender, as well as their birth order. All of these will aid in the development of their own uniqueness. In a sense, we become a product of our childhood, or our up-bringing. The first theorist is Alfred Alder, he was the younger of two siblings and this made him become competitive. Whereas, his is older brother, Sigmund was very healthy, robust, and full of energy; Alfred suffered from poor health and required extra attention during his childhood. Alfred developed a combative side, and he would often challenge authority. He also strived for superiority over Sigmund. Because his older brother was domineering, competent, and intelligence, Alfred always felt inferior to him. This would cause Alfred to feel like he was the underdog, who was constantly competing against a very powerful foe. All this aided in Alfred developing a fierce rivalry against his brother Sigmund. When Alfred was just five years old, he almost died from pneumonia. Young Alfred went skating with an older boy who abandoned him on the freezing, ice cold......

...regret in my mind for what I had done. I had rather a feeling of supreme satisfaction, of joy that I had done the right thing, that I had stood up for our honour and self-respect and had sacrificed myself for a noble cause. After all, what is life without renunciation, I told myself. And I went to sleep. Little did I then realise the inner significance of the tragic events of 1916. My Principal had expelled me, but he had made my future career. I had established a precedent for myself from which I could not easily depart in future. I had stood up with courage and composure in a crisis and fulfilled my duty. I had developed self-confidence as well as initiative, which was to stand me in good stead in future. I had a foretaste of leadership—though in a very restricted sphere—and of the martyrdom that it involves. In short, I had acquired character and could face the future with equanimity. WWW.HINDUSTANBOOKS.COM CHAPTER EIGHT MY STUDIES RESUMED It was the end of March, 1916, when I came down to Cuttack as a rusticated student. Fortunately, no stigma attached to that appellation. By students every where I was regarded with sympathy tingéd with respect, because I had stood up for their cause. There was no change whatsoever in the attitude of my parents and, strange to say, my father never put one question to me about the events in College or my part therein. My elder brothers in Calcutta had sympathised with me in my tribulations believing that I had......

...began to study for a Bachelor of Art, and then a Bachelor of Law from the University of London External Program. At school he took an interest in boxing and running; Mandela looked very charismatic, because he was tall, and thanks to the practice of physical activity, he was full of energy. We can see thanks to these elements that Mandela is a great example of what is a leader according to Taylor in 1911: a leader has to be skilled, to have special or technical knowledge, and Mandela had this thanks to his studies. A leader also has to be strong, energetic and to have a good health, and again Mandela was like this thanks to the practice of sport and his natural physical constitution. For Plato (IV BC) too, knowledge is the basis for leadership, and the role of education is central. According to these two theoricians, Mandela has the attributes of a natural leader. II. Political activity 1. Creation of the movement We first have to understand the global political context. In 1948, the National Party which supported the apartheid policy of racial segregation came to power. At that time, Mandela started to take part in the political life of the country, by enrolling in the ANC which adopted the Freedom Charter, one of the fundamental bases of anti-apartheid fight. Ervin Goffman talked in 1963 about “the face”, which is the way people present themselves in social situation; in 1967 he said “face is a mask that changes depending on the audience and the social......
