One will be an up-and-coming designer, the other an artist. By doing this, Apple creates a connection between the people in the city, the culture, and their own brand. The campaign will run from September through till December, during which time the contest will be held, the designs finalized, and the new Mac Books will be available for purchase. Queer Cinema and Johnny Guitar

...These elements add to the overall effect of a film and can either hurt or hinder the success of a film. There are strong elements of both in Johnny Guitar. Johnny guitar is a 1954, Western film that challenges the roles of women in the wild west. The film had a mediocre reception even though it stars film legend Joan Crawford. The story focuses on Crawford’s character Vienna who has builds a saloon out side of town and wants to build her own town once the railroad is built. However, the town’s people, led by Emma Small want her gone. So, Vienna hires Johnny Guitar for protection. This inciting incident is where the story begins. Throughout the trials and tribulations the characters face, camp and drag fuel the plot and the interactions between the characters. Elements of camp and drag are evident through the environment, and scenery and, and Vienna’s wardrobe. Johnny Guitar is essentially a western, however the scenery slightly disagrees. There are two instances where the scenery does not adhere to the rules of a western film. The first is Vienna’s saloon and the second is the Dancing Kid and his gang’s hideaway. Both locations lack a rugged western film and do not correspond to their original definition of what they should appear to be. Johnny guitar begins with stagecoach robbery and murder. This event is seen from a far by Johnny Guitar. This sets the scene to be a typical western environment. It is dangerous, rugged, desolate, barren weak trees and a whole lot of......

The Adventures of Johnny Bunko

...Jennifer G English 1A Tiffany Higgins September 10, 2014 The Adventures of Johnny Bunko Daniel Pink presents many important lessons in The Adventures Of Johnny Bunko: The Last Career Guide You'll Ever Need, which are secrets to being successful in life. Johnny Bunko is an average guy who is unhappy and unsatisfied with the career he has. Throughout the book, Pink states many good points and talks about being persistent and how people should focus on their strengths, not their weaknesses. Although I agree with Daniel Pink when he makes the point that in order to be successful you need to be persistence; I disagree when he states that people should focus on their strengths not their weaknesses, because in order to be successful you need to first focus on your weaknesses and improve them so you wont keep repeating the same mistake throughout your career. Summary: In The Adventures of Johnny Bunko, Daniel Pink using the character of Diana, argues that in order to have persistence you need to focus on your strengths and not your weaknesses. By all means, throughout the Six Lessons in The Adventures of Johnny Bunko the First Lesson Daniel Pink through the character of Diana mentions that “There is no plan.” Johnny is always tired which makes it hard for him to concentrate, so he struggles to get his work done on time. Johnny goes to lunch with his co workers and explains to them how when he opens the chopsticks “this person” who is Diana appears with magical powers. He......

Icon Analysis: Johnny Depp

...Icon Analysis: Johnny Depp Mikael Stoffer Baker College of Owosso Icons are recognized everywhere from producer, actor, model, worker, the list could go on forever because icons are anyone who is very successful and recognized widely as a symbol. An Icon has to be someone who is admired and considered successful to not only one person, it has to be a good chunk of people who can all agree that they are considered an icon to many people. But there are few people who would be considered an icon in the invention field because so many people are inventing things nowadays. But there will always be a set of people that come to mind when thinking of those few people in such a big field of interest like inventing, Steve Jobs, Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla, Bill Gates, the list could go on till you do not recognize anyone else. With actors there are plenty to choose from because actors can play many roles and be considered the star of the show or movie but even a side character can be considered an icon because they lifted spirits in a movie, but in most cases it is because they played so many roles. I’m going to be analyzing an actor that has so many roles he is considered to be Hollywood’s man of a thousand roles (Skillern, M.). His name is Johnny Depp, and he has played many eccentric and villainous roles that he is widely considered an icon throughout the entire acting community. Johnny Depp is the icon of Hollywood’s actors, one of the top 10 fashion icons and could be many...

...      Johnny Cupcakes is a small company with fantastic vision. The decisions that have been made thus far seem to have all been good but the brand could make some changes that could make it even better. One way this can happen is by expanding and getting the brand name out to more of the public, especially the target market (trendy young adults). There needs to be more ways for people to connect with the brand and to make them feel like they are a part of it. Johnny Cupcakes is a unique brand and so are the people who will become cult followers. They are looking for edgy, fresh products that will make them stand out. There needs to be more ways to draw them in and to get inside their heads. This will be the key to more sales and expansion of the brand.         Situational  Analysis                                           Target Market • • • • • • Gender: Men and Women Age: 18-25 Education: High school + HH Income: Less than $30,000 Single with no children Urban trendsetters   The target market for this category are young adults who want to stand out in the crowd. Johnny Appleseed Critic

...2/14/12 Critic #1 Johnny Appleseed Johnny Appleseed is a play for children and not only was every child in the audience entertained, but so was I. The acting of the play was very well done to keep the children engaged. The stage it was performed on was fairly large and the director was sure to make good use of the entire space. The stage was used resourcefully with all of the scenery and props that were used for the play. If a mood in the play changed, so did the lighting to enhance the effect it gave people. From the lighting I could tell when it was day or evening, or when the Mr. Feelgood and his sister (the bad guys) were up to something. My overall experience of the play was good; I really enjoyed it, and especially how the actors interacted with the audience. I thought all the actors in the play were believable. They’re costumes fit their character of people from an ordinary, olden day small town. Johnny Appleseed and Mr. Feelgood were my two favorites, because they really applied themselves to their part and I just enjoyed the whole good guy bad guy rivalry. I noticed how later in the play when Johnny Appleseed had grown to be old, Jared Wagner, the actor, held his back with his hand to show that he had aged. The performers interacted very well together, I noticed in particular when every time Johnny would return to the field and Josh would meet him, they played the game with the kids in the audience whether or not someone was behind Johnny or not. The way......

Johnny Songstealer

...Johnny Singstealer claims that he now owns the copyright to the “Happy Birthday To You” song for 20 years. The song was inherited from his family. He is seeking royalties from the use of the Happy Birthday Song. Bobby Bandleader says that everybody utilizes the “Happy Birthday To You” song. He has added his own “twist” in the song so it’s not the traditional song. He uses harmonizing chords, as well as, changed some of the words in the song to make it his own creativity. I am going to decide whether or not Bobby Bandleader will owe royalty payments to Johnny Singstealer simply because he uses the melody of the song and the basis of the song, HBTY. “Happy Birthday To You” is a song that is known throughout the world as the birthday song (Cold Case: The Happy Birthday Song Edition, 2011). The origination of the song was copywritten by Preston Ware Orem and R.R. Forman many years ago. They were the first to actually write out the song in which they received the copyright because of that and were estimated at $5 million dollars in 1990. The copyright isn’t due to expire until 2030, but has now been passed down to Johnny Singstealer in which he now owns the copyright. The purpose of copyright laws and royalties is to afford the copyright owner a fair return for his creative work and the copyright user a fair income under existing economic conditions (Proceedings by Copyright Royalty Judges). Bobby Bandleader has not sung the song, “Happy Birthday To You” verbatim...

Apples

...About Apples History The history of apples stretches back to the days of Adam and Eve, when it is believed to have been the “forbidden fruit” described in the Bible. Despite this long standing history, apples did not always grow naturally in New England. While the first apples are thought to have grown on the lower slopes of Tian Shan, a mountain range separating Kazakhstan and Krygystan, they also grew wild in Central and Southwest Asia, China, Italy, Switzerland, Spain and Greece. Through conquest and exploration, apples were spread when Romans conquered England and when Spaniards brought them to Mexico and South America. It wasn’t until the mid 1600’s that the Pilgrims cultivated them in Massachusetts. It is believed that John Endecott, an early governor, was the first to bring an apple tree to North America, and the first orchard was planted on Beacon Hill by a clergyman named William Blaxton. It is Blaxton who is credited for growing the first named apple, the Yellow Sweeting. Once apples were established in New England, they played an active role in everyday life. As a fruit which was easily stored through the winter, as well as being very beneficial to settlers’ health, apples were a main staple in early settlers’ diets. Despite the fact that apples were not initially from North America, and have been growing disease-free for centuries in their native habitats, the early settlers found that the long, hot summers and cold winters of New England grew apples......
