Most people in our world don’t appear to understand systems theory, systems philosophy, systems science or evolution; leading to some people becoming deniers of climate change. Some deny the fact that global warming is a phenomenon occurring today out of ignorance or out of self-interests which are psychopathic. When evidence points out to increase surface temperatures, rise in sea levels and decrease in ice extent; it means this is not a matter to be taken for granted. Global warming is a reality that we are currently facing in our world. Increased carbon dioxide emissions find their way into the atmosphere and combine with other gases to create a greenhouse effect. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) have predicted a rise of 8.6 degrees Fahrenheit come 2100.

There has been an increase in global temperatures over the past fifty years. NASA confirmed that the past year, 2015, was the warmest year ever experienced ever since the dawn of the ice age. They believe that this year wouldn't be different, in fact, they depict an exponential increment. Global temperatures were first recorded in 1880, scientists have noted an inconsistent change in global temperatures ever since. Research conducted by the atmospheric administration and the Climate Research unit shows that surface temperatures will increase exponentially come 2020. The rise in temperature is largely experienced in the Polar Regions where the percentage of ice cover continues to diminish.

The rise of global surface temperatures is attributed to the increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere (Balling, 2013). Carbon (IV) oxide, aerosols, and chlorine compose some of the greenhouse gases. These gases are released…...

...HOW TO READ ESSAYS YOU MUST ANALYZE 1. Take a pencil in your hand. 2. Read the essay over once, quickly, looking for the main idea, for what the essay is about in general, and for what the author seems to be saying. Don't get bogged down in details. (If you come to an unfamiliar word, circle it but go on reading). 3. Check the meaning of unfamiliar words. If they seem to be key words, i.e., if the author uses them more than once, scribble a brief definition at the bottom of the page or at the end of the essay. 4. Now re-read more slowly and carefully, this time making a conscious attempt to begin to isolate the single most important generalization the author makes: his thesis. Follow his line of thought; try to get some sense of structure. The thesis determines the structure, so the structure, once you begin to sense it, can lead you to the thesis. What is the main point the author is making: Where is it? Remember, examples or "for instances" are not main points. The thesis is the generalization the author is attempting to prove valid. Your job, then is to ask yourself, "What is the author trying to prove"? Another way of identifying the thesis is to ask yourself, "What is the unifying principle of this essay"? or "What idea does everything in this essay talk about"? or "Under what single main statement could all the subdivisions fit"? If the author has stated his thesis fully and clearly and all in one place, your job is easier. The thesis is apt to be......

An Essay on Essays

...Essays are generally scholarly pieces of writing written from an author's personal point of view, but the definition is vague, overlapping with those of an article, a pamphlet and a short story. Essays can consist of a number of elements, including: literary criticism, political manifestos, learned arguments, observations of daily life, recollections, and reflections of the author. Almost all modern essays are written in prose, but works in verse have been dubbed essays (e.g. Alexander Pope's An Essay on Criticism and An Essay on Man). While brevity usually defines an essay, voluminous works like John Locke's An Essay Concerning Human Understanding and Thomas Malthus's An Essay on the Principle of Population are counterexamples. In some countries (e.g., the United States and Canada), essays have become a major part of formal education. Secondary students are taught structured essay formats to improve their writing skills, and admission essays are often used by universities in selecting applicants and, in the humanities and social sciences, as a way of assessing the performance of students during final exams. The concept of an "essay" has been extended to other mediums beyond writing. A film essay is a movie that often incorporates documentary film making styles and which focuses more on the evolution of a theme or an idea. A photographic essay is an attempt to cover a topic with a linked series of photographs; it may or may not have an accompanying text or......
