Introduction Regardless of what the world think I believe that mankind was created in the image of God. Being created in His image definitely has an effect on my vocation. A vocation can be define as a particular occupation, business, or profession, or your divine call to God’s service or to the Christian life. I’m actually walking in my vocation right now. I was ordained a Minister in December of 2012. I have learned since then that I must be true, live holy, and have faith.
Example 1 - I Must Be True Being true in my vocation is the key to helping people know that you are authentic. To walk in trueness one must be real, genuine, sincere, not deceitful, loyal and faithful. I remember as a child always hearing the phrase, “it’s better to hear the ugly truth versus a good lie.” I have learned as a Christian that walking in truth is the having the image of God. Everything about God is true. According to Jeremiah 10:10: But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting King: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. His word is true, His Son Jesus is the truth, and this world was made based upon the truth. As I live out my vocation I understand that I must be true with myself first before I can be true to anybody else. Being made in the image of God makes it so easy to live out the image of God. Because I am made in His image and after His likeness I can operate like He does. No matter how hard it may be I must never tell lies and act in accordance with the enemy. In the bible Jesus was speaking about the importance of not telling lies in John 8:42-44: Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your…...

...first, second or third person point of view. How the point of view is presented to the reader. You have to keep in mind as you read a story you are feeling and sensing everything that author was feeling as he/she wrote the words down. When and Author writhe he or she has to stay consistent about what they are saying throughout the story or it would make it very confusing to the reader to understand what they are trying to say. When you speak in terms of the first person you want to make it necessary that the narrator is also a character in the story. The narrator reveals the plot by referring to this viewpoint character as I or we. This is first-person narrative is used as a way to tell the unspoken thoughts of the narrator. Now the narrator story frankly revolves around his or herself it allows protagonist/narrator character’s inner thoughts to be conveyed. First-person narrations can also be told like third person who means a person experiencing the story without being aware that they are actually sharing their inner thoughts to the audience. This is a form of a short story in a story. Thinking from a first person point of view is always a character within his/her own story. This character takes actions, makes judgments and has and opinion and is biases. Sometimes that audience is not able to understand some of the characters thoughts or feeling. The narrator gives and withholds information based on his or her on view of how the story plays out When it comes to......

If we make mistakes, she will shout at us. Sometimes she shouts at me in front of the carpenters who work in our little house. “Lois! Use your common sense! You must know how to work, for there will be the day that your father and I, will be gone in this world, and you don’t know how to work, what will become of you!” Uh!!! How many times did I hear that word, ‘work’, that is so embarrassing! I always murmur in working. I know its bad, but I can’t take it anymore. Can she please take a break? I hope that my mother will stop murmuring in one day! Just one day? You know what; I really feel it, truly, inside my heart that they don’t love me. Just like on April 13, 2009, my bigger sister told my mother to buy a NARNIA book, my mom nod. Then when I say to buy a Nancy Drew Book, she just ignores it. Well...

I am 17 years old and born in Maryland on December 22, 1995. I have attended Northern Nash High School for the past four years. My goal in life is to go into the Air Force or the Army. I would like to go in as a Military Police (MP). At a young age, I was inspired to working with law enforcement. What inspired me was my mother working with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), aunt working in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), uncle working with the Department of Defense, and my grandfather being a Military Police. The topic I decided to do was “The History of the Air Force.” This was an important topic to me because I have always wanted to go into the Air Force. The Air Force has always been very interesting to me. I am just so excited in the way the Air Force protects our country. When I started doing my investing on the Air Force, is when I began learning how the Air Force really operated. When doing my research paper on the air force, I used the websites of www.airforcee.com ,www.airforcehistory.com and www.military.com. My paper will be a connection to enrich young minds on the things they would like to know about the Air Force. Someone who wants to enlist in the Air Force could learn the ins and outs of the Air Force. The Capstone Project......

My Spirituality and the Christian Tradition

...My Spirituality and The Christian Tradition Though I cannot say I am a Christian, I can say that some Christian traditions and values have stuck with me throughout the years out of respect and habit. I still attend church and do prayer before eating when I am invited by some of the more religious members of my family. Holidays such as Christmas or Easter are still celebrated and still contain some religious flavoring depending on who I am celebrating with. Outside of holidays and dinners with devout friends and family, everything I do generally is secular. I now realize that I pretty much only partake in religious occasions when I feel it is necessitated to appease the more devout in my family and sphere of contacts. I cannot directly correlate my own spirituality with the Christian Tradition as I am not exactly a believer. I think of myself as more of a skeptic on the whole thing even though I was brought up as a Baptist. As stated before, I do celebrate Christian holidays but in a more secular family-orientated light. Some Christian values I do try to keep as they generally are in line with what I believe in such as "turning the other cheek" and unconditional love even when such relations are strained. I see them as more guidelines than a set rules as it is impossible to stay on the straight and narrow throughout life as things change so one most bend with the times but not so much as to forget the shape one once was. Outside of those few things I just try to be a......

My Progression to Christian Thought

...My Progression in Christian Thought Introduction My progression in Christian thought addresses three particular areas of growth. I have always known it is imperative to share my own personal testimony when ministering to the lost. I believe it allows them to understand that I haven’t always been a Christian and we’ve all fallen short of God’s glory. So I try very hard to maintain a standard of living which pleases the Lord because I long to become more and more Christ-like every day while doing his will. I am a part of a body of Christ (a local church), therefore, it is my duty to make sure the love of God is displayed within my community. Why personal testimonies are important in sharing the gospel Sharing my personal testimony is very important to me, because I have seen my past in others right before my eyes. I believe sharing our personal testimonies with those who are lost or in disbelief can help them realize the existence of Christ as well as his goodness. Testimonies are meant to be shared, because God wants us to go out and spread the gospel. We are warriors for Christ and are called to serve him. How else will the world know of a being in which they already cannot see? Sharing our testimony is evidence of Christ’s existence. God loves us and moves in our lives and delights in our sharing to help others. As Christians, we have gone through a period of conversion; so the world needs to know and see that through testimony. Testimony...

Christian Counseling That Reall Works

...PL 530 CHRISTIAN COUNSELING THAT REALLY WORKS COMPASS THERAPY IN ACTION BY DR. DAN MONTGOMERY PUBLISHED BY COMPASS WORKS, 2006 PAPER WRITTEN BY REV. STEVE BUSE MASTER’S IN CHRISTIAN COUNSELING PAPER PREPARED FOR NEWBURGH THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY AND COLLEGE OF THE BIBLE SUBMITTED FOR GRADING ON JANUARY 12, 2016 The book Christian Counseling That Really Works was a great book to read. It gives examples of twenty five techniques that one can use in counseling. The book talks about the compass therapy approach, which I thought would be a very helpful tool when working a counseling session. I am looking forward to putting some of these techniques into action in the years to come. The Compass Therapy combines counseling or therapy with Christian beliefs. A counselor must use good counseling techniques with Christ’s healing power. Study cases have shown the there are two polarities that make up a persons personality. These polarities are love/assertion and weakness/strength. These polarities make up what they call the LAWS of personality and relationships. These LAWS can help you choose between healthy and unhealthy personalities. The LAWS break down into four quadrants of a circle. The four quadrants are called love, assertion, weakness and strength. The circle represents boundaries. These boundaries separate people from the world giving each person their......

...incomplete information. This is in contrast to the equilibrium theory in political economy, which presumes that information is immediately send to everyone, that people try to maximize gain, and that they behave rationally. Implicitly, the equilibrium theory assumes that rationality is similar across cultures. Cultural differences, which can be seen as a form of bias, fit easily within reflexivity theory, but inclined to be lost within a view guided by equilibrium theory. I.C: Relevance From an international management position, the probabilities of success are greater when managers do the following: • Understand cultural differences, have empathy in a nonjudgmental fashion, and construct a reasoning based on both cultures. • Identify how the home nation is perceived by the host state. Prepare a strategy to overcome any negative existing image and benefit from the positive one. One object lesson provided by a director is that she realized that her compatriots are perceived in the host country as being honest and respectful of their contracts. She used this perception as a competitive advantage and positioned her company as the most ethical one, delivering its promises to the host country (within its industry). At the beginning, she said, it was difficult to be ethical because bribery and changing And modifying contracts were—and still are—the norm. There was a monetary value connected with being ethical, but she saw it as an investment that paid off in the long......

...Introduction In this task I have been asked to write a report on my understanding of one level of government. I will be discussing central government including the democratic election process and other important facts. The central government is the government at the level of the nation state and also they maintain national security and international diplomacy, they can also make laws over the whole country. The roles that the central government focus on are making laws, defending the nation and signing treaties or agreements with other nations. The democratic election processes is where all peoples of this country over the age of 18 are allowed to vote. It is written within our constitution that all people have an entitlement to vote. You would also have to be 21 and over to enter the election. An election is a formal decision-making process by which a public chooses an individual out of the constituency To be a candidate there is no selection process if you are an individual representative and are eligible you may stand for office. To be eligible you need to be at least 18 years old, you must be a British citizen or a citizen of the Irish Republic or even another member state of the European Union. A selection procedure only becomes needed when you have to insure that the best candidate or the candidate most likely to win the seat is selected. If you are standing as a independent representative there are no candidate selection procedures as long as you are eligible......

My Christian Worldviews

...November 13, 2011 Todd Forrest My Very Own Worldview The three components that make up my worldview are God, Knowledge, and Ultimate Reality, because they shape shaped my thoughts, experiences, education, and life decisions. Therefore, my belief in God has shaped my entire life through my thoughts, experiences, and life decisions. My Thoughts: My thoughts have always included God, for as long as I can remember. I can remember feeling the presence of God around me as a very, very small child, and He has always been there to support me with His love and guidance. I don’t think of myself as a religious person, but as a person who would like to live my life the way God wants us to. I have always been a “Pollyanna” type, because I always believed that there is good in everyone and everything. It is really not practical to believe that people will always think and behave the same as me, which is why I have spent many years learning about others – how they think, what they do, and why they do it- as a way to better understand the human race. I have learned that many self proclaimed Christians can be the most evil of people, because going to church and reading the bible does not make a person act like Jesus Christ. People should not have to act “as if”, but just be like Him. I am old enough to have seen some pretty hypocritical folks in my lifetime that would chastise others for not going to church and reading the......
