Arnold was a pioneer of the United States Air force. Arnold was born June 25, 1886, in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania. After graduating high school Arnold had the intentions of becoming a Baptist minister, pressured by his father, but he was refused acceptance after admitting he was married. Thereafter Arnold joined the United States Military Academy in the year 1907. At the age of 17, Arnold was noticed to be very intelligent, and after graduation Hap Arnold was awarded the position as a second lieutenant, Infantry. Arnold was unhappy with his current position, so he volunteered to assist in a cartography detail mapping of the island of Luzon. Sargent Cowan of the Signal Corps (who was over Arnold during the mapping) returned to the U.S. to become a chief of the newfound Aeronautical Division, U.S. Signal Corps. Cowan was instructed to hire two pilots. Arnold was awarded one of the positions and moved to Simms Station, Ohio to attend The Wright Brothers aviation school. Arnold made his first solo flight after a short training time of 34 hours. Arnold was one of the first 24 rated military aviators, and he was off to bigger and better things. Arnold was sent to the Aeronautical Division, U.S. Signal Corps at College Park, Maryland, as the Army’s first flight instructor. While in Maryland, Arnold set many records and was even the first airman in the United States to carry mail by air transportation. Arnold was in a near fatal crash, after his plane stalled, and he realized on that day how dangerous flying could be. Arnold requested a leave of absence and wanted out of aviation. After years of avoiding flying Arnold then overcame his fears and jumped back in the pilots seat to train new pilots, and supervise the expansion of air service for World War 1. Arnold continuously climbed the latter of success; he rose to command the Air Force and directed its growth into…...

Oh Happy Day

...Oh Happy Day By Phillip Andrews I walked in the tutoring center on Thursday June 16, 2011, at 12:30p m before math class. I had mixed emotions as I entered the school. My mind was wondering like should I go get help or don’t worry about it. As I turn around the corner heading towards the room I was feeling good about getting help. I sign in at the computer, and one of the tutor named Tony Williams, came over and ask “How may I help you”? Yes, I said, at first I was thinking that he must be smart by the way he looked with glasses and tight clothes on. As I sat down at the table, I notice it was not a lot of people in the center to get help. I ask him “Do a lot of people come get help? “ He replied, not right now because it is still early in the summer semester. “He asked what do I need help with?” I said math class, and pull my book out, my book bag, and showed him the chapter I need help understanding. He looked at the math and said no problem. I told him what type of problems I was having trouble with Integers. I have always had trouble with this part of math before. Tony told me by the time I leave today from the center I will be able to do this math. I laugh and said you are right because inside of me I have this good feeling. We began from the start of Chapter just going over the basic. He wanted to know if I knew the rules for adding and subtracting positive numbers. I showed him I can do it when they are the numbers have the same signs. But when they are......

...important than simply how you look on the outside… But we obviously all want both, right? Alright, time to get started, and get you on your way to stripping off that stubborn stomach fat and unleashing your own set of six pack abs! 7 1.0 INTRO Working as a Certified Personal Trainer & Certified Nutrition Specialist and reading volumes of fitness publications over the years, I’ve noticed that the majority of fitness related questions that I see and hear most frequently revolve around the abdominals, stomach fat, and love handles. As the centerpiece of the human physique, the aesthetically pleasing abdominals have become the obsession of most people that are concerned about their physical appearance. Unfortunately, with modern day culture giving us more opportunities to do less physical work and eat more highly processed super-sized meals with increasing convenience, it has become progressively more difficult and frustrating for the majority of people to obtain anything even closely resembling a six-pack. To make things worse, we are bombarded by so many “magic pills”, ab gadgets, and fad diets claiming to strip off body fat and give you a ripped set of abs that the average consumer can’t make heads or tails over what works and what doesn’t. Just look at all of the conflicting popular diets on the market today. One claims that a low-carb diet is the only way to lose weight, another says low-fat is the best, and yet another claims that a vegetarian diet is the only......

...Do You Have What It Takes to Be Happy? By Stacey Colino 1.If you add up money, beauty, fame, and admiration, you’ve got the formula for a lifetime of bliss, right? Wrong. The truth is, your financial status, external circumstances, and life events account for no more than 15 percent of your happiness quotient, studies show. What elements do make a difference? Surprisingly simple internal factors such as having healthy self-esteem, a sense of optimism and hope, gratifying relationships, and meaning and purpose in your life have the most influence, according to recent studies on what researchers call “subjective well-being” 2.If that sounds like a tall order, here’s the good news: Even if they don’t come naturally, many of the attitudes and thought patterns that influence happiness can be cultivated, which means you can boost your capacity for happiness today—and in the future. “Studies with twins reveal that happiness is somewhat like a person’s cholesterol level—it’s genetically influenced, but it’s also influenced by some factors that are under our control”, explains David Myers, Ph.D., a social psychologist at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, and author of The Pursuit of Happiness (Harper Collins, 1993). In other words, while your genetically determined temperament has a fairly strong influence on your happiness quotient, you can nudge it upward with the attitudes and approaches you bring to your life. To develop a sunnier disposition, use the simple strategies......

...life? Well, for me the word happiness means, being able to live another day and to be surrounded by the people you love and care for. In other words, being surrounded by family is happiness. In this essay, I am going to talk about two of the many things that make me feel happy and what I think it means to be happy. The first thing that makes me happy is being surrounded by the people you love and care for, which is family. Being closer to your family makes me happy. It is always good to be around those that love you more often than being apart from them. My family almost always gets together on Sundays. We go to my grandmother’s house and spend the day with each other. I find this to be relaxing and I feel that having people that care for each other makes you a happier person. Also, when people have children they should be there for them because they will live a healthier life if their parents are in their life more often. It is also good to notice and acknowledge kids when they accomplish their goals because it will make them and yourself happier than if you just ignore them. Family is also a very important part of one’s life because they will always be there for you until you die. Whereas, a wife or significant other may not be there for you until you die or in times of need. This is because they can always leave even after years and years of being with one another. The second thing that makes me feel happy is being able to live and enjoying life. I do not really......

...One essential standard for living is being able to be happy. Happiness can be found in many different forms. It can be found with the purchasing of inanimate objects that better our living styles or it can be found with someone else that you associate with. The latter is the more imperative of the designs of happiness. In order to be truly happy you need to be able to understand that everything is good within your own life and that you are able to be happy with the people that are in your life and the people that influence how you live your daily life. Happiness is all of the good that someone experiences combined into one emotion. This emotion can, and usually does, bring out the best in people. For someone to be happy they need to know that everything that has happened in their past has happened for a reason and that it has happened in order for them to become a better person. Not only does it make them a better person but it also makes them realize how good they have it or can possibly have it. Although things might be hard to deal with at the moment, people need to realize that they will be able to learn from their experiences and that they will learn to take the good from them all. In the end, the hard times will help people strive for happiness. Happiness isn't free. You have to earn it and work to keep it....

...full because now I have a chance to finally write my first blog post. I'll share a few tips from my heart on being and staying happy in Jesus. * "Are any among you in trouble? They should pray..." - James 5:13 Pray; my joy begins and ends in God and I can confidently say that the joy of the Lord is truly my strength. You cannot be happy while you insist on carrying your own burdens. The Bible says that we cast our cares on the Lord. Now the way to do this is by prayer. I do not expect to be happy while my God is angry at me. So be it burdens of sin -by the way disobedience to God will snuff the joy out of you cause joy is from the Holy Spirit and He can get grieved by us when we do wrong!-, worry, anxiety, depression, name it! I will lay it at His feet and His cross and take on His yoke. I realized that if I truly want to be happy all the days of my life, then I should seek diligently to be full of all that God is. * ------------------------------------------------- "...Are any among you happy? They should sing praises." ------------------------------------------------- James 5:13 Be grateful; My heart "glows" when I appreciate someone. And it does so when am appreciated as well. Being grateful helps you appreciate and be content with what you have. A sincere thank you to God and people around you will go a long way in helping you stay happy about what you already have. When is the last time you said thank you? Take your time with God today, give thanks sincerely......

...Markhor is a wild goat and one of the most beautiful wild animals inhabiting the mountainous regions of Pakistan. The animal prefers living on dangerous and steep cliffs of the mountains to protect themselves from the attacks of wild predators including snow leopard and wolf. Also these high cliffs provide safe refuge from the hunters, who wishes to get at least one pride trophy of markhor in their hunting life. The male markhor is more beautiful while having long twisted horns. These animals have strong role in the food web of the mountains ecosystem and their presence ensures to keep it in shape both for nature and humans. Pakistan hosts seven Caprinae species with 11 sub-species occupying habitats from the hills in the southern desert to the high alpine areas of the Himalaya (Hess et al., 1997). Most of the worlds Caprinae population inhabits Pakistan’s lower altitudes, use steep slopes, loosely covered by bushesor open forests, providing readily available rock bluffs as escape terrain. Broadly, there are divided into two categories: flare-horned markhor (Capra falconeri falconeri) and straight-horned markhor (Capra falconeri megaceros). Flare-horned markhor includes two sub-species: Pir Panjal or Kashmir markhor and Astore markhor, whereas straight-horned markhor also includes two sub-species as well: Kabul markhor and straight-horned or Suleiman markhor. The Chiltan Markhor has been categorised as Chiltan Wild Goat. Key Facts Schaller (1977) recorded shoulder......

...and they will want to eat the masterpiece you and your child created. I observed nothing abnormal during my assessment. Communication The parent identified that the child can speak clearly, tell elaborate stories using full sentences with future and past tense words and describe the meaning of words and how they are used. The parent also stated the child can say her name and birthday, but still gets the numbers mixed up on her phone number and address. The parent believes the child has met all communication milestones. My observation matched the parents’ statements. The child engaged in a full conversation with me. She told me all about school and her monster high dolls and also told me what she was going to do at dance the following day. She had no difficulty describing the meaning and usage of words that were age appropriate. As far as screening recommendations, I would tell the parent to get visual and hearing screenings by six years of age. Being able to catch any abnormalities early will help the child progress successfully in learning and communication. I would educate the mother to continue to practice reading and writing and as the child excels in communication express the importance of not just communicating with unfamiliar people especially when the parent isn’t present. Social/Emotional The parent identifies the child has met all social and emotional milestones for the age of this child. From my observations the child is aware of her gender and the......

A Happy Meal for a Happy Mind

...A Happy Meal for the Mind When I was a little girl I always thought it was a treat to visit McDonalds. This magical place had a giant play-place, ice cream, French fries and of course that special surprise toy contained inside the happy meal. What else could I have wanted? This world lost all of its glamour however, when I became a teen who experienced the inner workings of this land from the side of employment. I will never forget the place that was to be my first experience of the working world. My Fifteenth birthday had just passed and this meant I was finally old enough to enter the work force. So I went to the only place in the area that would hire a kid without experience or a driver’s license, McDonalds. Now, I wasn't entirely thrilled about the idea of working in this environment but if I wanted to get a car in the next year it was off to work for me. Somewhat sullenly, I donned my uniformed baseball cap and made my way behind the service counter. Feeling a little nervous, I fumbled as I attempted to tie my apron behind my back. I began to wonder what I might be assigned to do first. "Well, as long as I can work behind the scenes and avoid talking to people I should be okay." I thought. Standing motionless, I observed the fast-food frenzied scene. Employees were running here and there yelling to one another, order screens were flashing, various machines were......
