Cilj rada je prikazati trend centralne distribucije koju je implementiralo poduzeće Lidl d.o.o. k.d. kao i navesti prednosti i nedostatke.

Prilikom izrade pristupnog rada prvenstveno je korištena dostupna stručna literatura iz područja logistike, članci i podaci prikupljeni na Internet stranicama – metoda kompilacije. Također veliki dio rada je izrađen na temelju osobnog iskustva autora rada.

Osnovni pojmovi
Logistika je sustav toka robe, materijala i energije, informacija i ljudi koji povezuje nabavna tržišta s proizvodnim i potrošačkim mjestima.

Osnovne strukture logističkih sustava:
- jednostupnjevane logističke sustave
- višestupnjevane logističke sustave
- kombinirane logističke sustave
U jednostupnjevanom sustavu roba ide odmah od točke isporuke, gdje se roba priprema, do točke prijema, gdje se roba upotrebljava.

U višestupnjevanom sustavu roba ne ide direktno od točke isporuke do točke prijema nego se bar u jednoj točki roba pregrupira u manje ili veće jedinice količine za isporuku, što zavisi o potrebama primatelja u točki prijema

kombinirane logističke sustave u kojima se pojavljuju istodobno elementi jednostupnjevanog i višestupnjevanog sustava
Osnovna funkcija logističkih sustava je prostorno – vremenska transformacija dobara. S njenim ispunjenjem vezane su funkcije promjene količina i vrsta dobara te funkcije olakšavanja transformacije dobara.
Dakle, ove se funkcije obavljaju u procesima: * transporta, pregrupiranja i skladištenja, gdje su bitni procesi tokova dobara * pakiranje, gdje su bitni procesi pomaganja tokovima dobara * dostavljanja i obrade naloga, gdje su bitni procesi tokova informacija – stoga su procesi tokova informacija također logistički procesi

...Robert Schiller Grand Coulee Dam The Grand Coulee Dam was hailed as the "Eighth Wonder of the World" in 1941 when it was finished being built. It blocks the Columbia River with 12 million cubic yards of concrete, and spreads over a mile wide with the height of a 46-story building all holding back a 150-mile long reservoir called Lake Roosevelt. The dam produces more kilowatts than any other dam in the United States. The Grand Coulee was only part of the Columbia Basin Project that included four additional dams, three reservoir lakes, and approximately 2,300 miles of irrigation canals all making their way through a half a million acres of desert. It has been deemed as the largest public works project that has had the greatest impact on the economic development of the Pacific Northwest. But, the social and environmental costs were severe that the Grand Coulee Dam more than likely could not be built today. The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) hired folksinger Woody Guthrie in May 1941, to promote the federal dams on the Columbia River. Throughout the history of the world, dams and reservoirs have been used successfully in collecting, storing and managing water needed to sustain civilization, with water supply as primary benefit of dams but also irrigation for agriculture (food supply), flood control, hydropower, inland navigation, recreation… Although dams provide significant benefits to societies, their impacts are diverse and include resettlement and relocation, socioeconomic impacts, environmental ecological concerns, sedimentation issues… The dams in the Pacific Northwest are not an exception. Indeed, these dams constitute an obstacle to the movement of species and sediment (sand, mud ...). ...Mary Williams February 14, 2013 International Law II – Welling Hall Gabcikovo-Nagymaros Dam On September 16, 1977, we, the People’s Republic of Hungary signed onto the Budapest Treaty with, then, the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic to initiate a large barrage project on an international watercourse, the Danube River. It was mutually understood that this project would improve shipping access and river navigability, reduce flooding, and produce much needed clean hydropower for both nation states. This project was an exciting endeavor to improve economic development in both our countries through the utilization of our shared watercourse. However, soon after work began on the project in 1978, new evidence emerged that there would be massive environmental consequences to the Danube because of the construction and operation of the System of Locks. The general public of Hungary held strong opposition to the continuation of the project as a direct response to environmental protection concerns. After several years of negotiations, we, the People’s Republic of Hungary, suspended our work on the project in 1989, eventually terminating the treaty in 1992, in the recognition that the environmental devastation would be too adverse to justify the potential economic development to be gained from the project. ...2: Hoover Dam The Hoover Dam, once known as the Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between Arizona and Nevada.
