Communication
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For other uses, see Communication (disambiguation).
"Communicate" redirects here. For other uses, see Communicate (disambiguation).
Communication (from Latin commūnicāre, meaning "to share" [1]) is the activity of conveying information through the exchange of ideas, feelings, intentions, attitudes, expectations, perceptions or commands, as by speech, non-verbal gestures, writings, behavior and possibly by other means such as electromagnetic, chemical or physical phenomena and smell. It is the meaningful exchange of information between two or more participants (machines, organisms or their parts).[2][3]
Communication requires a sender, a message, a medium and a recipient, although the receiver does not have to be present or aware of the sender's intent to communicate at the time of communication; thus communication can occur across vast distances in time and space. Communication requires that the communicating parties share an area of communicative commonality. The communication process is complete once the receiver understands the sender's message.[citation needed]
Communicating with others involves three primary steps:[4] * Thought: First, information exists in the mind of the sender. This can be a concept, idea, information, or feeling. * Encoding: Next, a message is sent to a receiver in words or other symbols. * Decoding: Lastly, the receiver translates the words or symbols into a concept or information that a person can understand.
There are a variety of verbal and non-verbal forms of communication. These include body language, eye contact, sign language, haptic communication, and chronemics. Other examples are media content such as pictures, graphics, sound, and writing. The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities also defines…...

...have increased. 2. Describe the proposal/change. (10 points) The proposal increases the fee for late season deer permits and repeals the “group hunting” permit. 3. Write the public comment which you would submit to this proposal. If the proposed regulation deadline has already passed, write the comment you would have submitted. Explain briefly what you wish to accomplish with your comment. (10 points) My comment is that group hunts were beneficial to the family who hunts together and I’m not sure why they are being repealed. Further, hunting is expensive and a set of permits for a family of 6 is now $105, instead of $90. Hunting deer is a benefit to the state of IL as there are over 45,000 car accidents due to deer and hunting is the only control mechanism the state uses. I wish to have them reconsider this new rule. 4. Provide the "deadline" by which the public comment must be made. (If the date has already passed, please provide when the deadline was). (5 points) This expires on 10/2/10. 5. a. Once you have submitted your comment, what will you be legally entitled to do later in the promulgation process (if you should choose to do so)? (See the textbook's discussion of the Administrative Procedure Act.) (will provide after homework due) b. If the proposal passes, identify and explain the five legal theories you could use in an attempt to have the regulation declared invalid and overturned in court.   (will provide after homework due) c. Which of these......

...expedition they also found footprints and Yeti’s shit that was analyzed and contained both animal and vegetable matter. In 1958, an American scientist named Dr. Norman Dyrenfurth was working in Katmandu, Nepal and reported to have explored caves that belonged to a very low grade of human or near human creatures. He discovered physical evidence such as hair samples, plaster casts of footprints, and food scraps. I believe that these are the most accurate reliable sightings of the Yeti. The sightings of the Yeti seem to be very accurate and the evidence can be convincing. A lot of the sightings of the Yeti are very intense and rare. In 1913 when the Chinese hunters captured a hairy like creature what else could have it been? These sightings clearly prove that there is something out there but what or how could this thing exist in this world. These sources also show that they have encountered the Yeti or discovered clues that can lead to up to the life of Yeti. In 1954 they discovered authentic Yeti scalps in caves but was not identifiable which means this could only lead up to an abominable snowman or a creature we are not familiar with. These sources are the most accurate and reliable because they all have something in common about the Yeti. They all mention that it walks upright and it’s very strong with a lot of hair. There is no way the Yeti can exist in South Asia. The first scene of Yeti dates all the way back to the early 1800’s and till this day a lot of......

What Do Marketers Do

...“WHAT DO MARKETERS DO? “ New York is one of the most famous cities in the world. If I would ask people about the sights in this city, everybody will mention the Times Square for sure. So what have the Times Square and this text about marketing in common? Everywhere at this gaudy and lightly place there are advertisements. I personally think that one task of a marketer is it, to get these advertisements to places, where people can see it and where people are presented. They want to get people known that a product are exist. There are different companies, which producing the same product or service. So in business there’s an enormous competition and in my opinion marketers can make the different between success and failure. Their job is it, to make his product better looking for the people than the competitor. It’s not just about good looking; the customer should get the information which he needs. For example when I want to buy a new Smartphone I immediately think about “Samsung” and “Apple”. This is one aim, which marketers wanted to reach. On the one hand existing products are placed on the market like in the case before and on the other hand the marketer has to search for new products and ideas. In this case marketer have to make a market research, in which they are going to collect, review, analyse and interpret data to make right decisions. They also have to keep the competitor in view. What’s his next step? Do they get new technologies or make improvement at their......

What Do Marketers Do?

...What do marketers do? A marketer will have researched the market to find those needs of consumers that have not been developed. A marketer uses a business tool called the “marketing mix.” The marketing mix is essentially made up of the four Ps; price, product, promotion and place. These four elements are the underlying basis and marketing fundamentals to enable the marketer in determining a product or service. (Sharp, 2013) So selling is merely just a fraction of the entire marketing process of a product or service. When one looks closer at each p element of marketing, there is a considerable amount of strategy, planning and research that is required. By understanding the needs of a consumer is merely not enough, there are also other factors which require research and understanding why consumers are influenced in a number of ways to make specific purchases. All these factors are driven ultimately by consumer behaviour. A marketer will have researched consumer behaviour, in other words, they use market science, to systematically gather and analyse information needed. By applying the theoretical aspects of marketing and bridging this with real world marketing knowledge, the marketer can make informed decisions in planning marketing strategies. Many marketing fundamental theories have evolved over time, after all, marketing has been around been for thousands of years, many have seen thousands of products come and go over time. Yet the fundamental factors that influence......

What Do Marketers Do?

...What do Marketers do? A career in Marketing may be seen as a ‘highly paid and exciting job’ [Byron Sharp, pg6] by many people, but what actually are the roles and responsibilities of a Marketer? ‘The role of the marketer is to understand consumer behaviour and recognise market opportunities so that the organisation can adapt and stay competitive.’ [Byron Sharp, pg22] ‘A Marketer needs to make and review an enormous range of decisions which will either ensure success or failure for a firm.’ [Byron Sharp, pg6] These decisions are drawn from intensive market research that helps marketers understand needs, wants and desires from consumers. ‘A successful marketing professional will be competent in evaluating these needs of the consumer market as they relate to a given set of product(s).’ [Byron Sharp, pg9] This means that the marketing professional will understand how and where to acquire knowledge about consumer demands and trends that are relevant to the marketing of specific goods and services globally or locally. ‘Marketing professionals of the modern era are the people that oversea trading. The modern economy depends on trade.’ making a marketer’s job very relevant to a business. [Byron Sharp, pg8] ‘They research it, compete against one another and make important decisions.’ [Byron Sharp, pg8] ‘The successful marketer usually a professional in a more senior role such as Marketing Director make informed decisions and budget allocations’ [Byron Sharp, pg8] after......

...design appropriate marketing strategies, and manage the undertaking marketing activities (Mbalib n.d.). In order to seeking potential market opportunities, it is essential for marketers to do comprehensive market research in forms of observations and surveys, which helps marketers to understand consumers’ needs and wants, as well as their behaviour (Sharp 2013, p.6). Generally, there are two types of marketers. One is mainly involved in routine marketing activities, they are performers of marketing decisions, experiments and proposals (Laura n.d.). They also are information collectors and product promoters. They promoting and selling brands, conduct market researches and report the results, collect and report the market matrix figures (Sharp 2013, p.9). This type of marketers are practical, who directly contact with consumers, put marketing decisions and plans into action. The other type of marketers’ job mostly is to make decisions and design marketing activities. For example, for the purpose of market research, they design the research. After the research, they analyse the data reported by the marketer who conduct the research. They also monitor and control brands’ performance by analyse marketing matrix (Sharp 2013, p.9). This requires marketers have abilities to read and understand what does market matrix indicates (Sharp 2013, p.13). In this day and age, with the development and fluctuation of the market, challenges faced by marketers are increasingly severe.......

Discussion 1 What substances do iodine and Benedict's solution test for? 2 What change takes place when starch and saliva are mixed, according to the results in tubes 4 and 6? 3 Tubes 3 and 5 probably did not give the same results as tubes 4 and 6. In what way were the contents treated that could account for this difference? 4 (a) Are your results consistent with the hypothesis (theory) that an enzyme in saliva has changed starch to sugar? (b) Do your results prove that an enzyme in saliva has changed starch to sugar? 5 In what way do the results with tubes 3 and 5 support the enzyme hypothesis? 6 Do your experimental results rule out the possibility that (a) starch converts unboiled saliva to sugar or (b) starch and unboiled saliva combine chemically to form sugar? 7 The starch molecule consists of a long chain of carbon atoms with oxygen and hydrogen atoms attached. A sugar, such as glucose, has molecules consisting of six carbon atoms with oxygen and hydrogen atoms attached (see p. 8.02). Using this information, suggest a way in which sugar could be formed from starch. What part would an enzyme play in this reaction? 8 If you tried experiment 8, state in what ways the conditions for the reaction between starch and hydrochloric acid differed from those in the starch/saliva......

What Nurses Do

...about nurses, and what they actually do, you don’t normally think about anything other than them just helping out the doctors. In reality, being a nurse is much more than that. Nursing care is not only about nursing skills, it’s about providing a superior bedside manner. You have to be available to the patient whenever they may need you. Nursing is a profession within the health care sector, focused on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life. My mom is a nurse, so I had a little preconceived knowledge about what a nurse actually does. I thought that nurses were just there to be an aid to the doctors. After my observation, I realize that being a nurse is much more than that. Nurses provide care both interdependently, for example, with physicians, and independently as nursing professionals. Nurses work along with the doctors, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, discharge planning nurses, the pharmacies, and the palliative care team. I job shadowed Mellissa Bergman, who is an LPN at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah. To start off the early morning, we started giving each resident their medications. Each resident has different medications and supplements they have to take. Some residents only have a few pills, while others have so many, they have to take them mixed with pudding. Each resident has a certain way they like to do things. One......

What to Do

...Hello… I am new to this site. I am not too sure how much I trust loading my work to this site without getting an idea of how it works. This is a practice test. To see what the site is like. If I think it is acceptable and not a fake then I will upload my papers to contribute to students getting an IDEA of how to start a paper if they are stuck or and idea of how a paper should be outlined. It will be interesting if this paper gets flagged because I don’t know how many other did this before uploading since there is not any info on how the sit works or if your papers are safe from being plagiarized. Everything that I click to takes me to the page to register, so as a contributor and a costumer I feel that there needs to be a little more instruction on how this site works. This is a great site for student to get help from, from previous students who already took a class due to poor instructions from a professor, or no instructions in my case. I have to have 250 words before I can look at the site. IF anything I think there should be a trial period of 2 days to help give us an idea of how the site works and familiarize ourselves with the idea of sharing papers. Thank you for listening to my thoughts and ideas. Hopefully someone does something to make it more convent for us all....

What to Do

...Sometimes you will get stuck while you are working on a tough assignment in a challenging class. It is very important to let someone know that you may be in over your head. You may feel a desire to do something easy and fun, like play a video game or watch TV, instead of working on the assignment and reminding yourself that you are not up to the task. Ideally, you will not be given an assignment you are truly incapable of finishing. If you do not have a breakthrough in a reasonable amount of time, you need to alert the teacher that you are going to fail. A decent teacher will help you work through your mental blockage. If you are a university student, you may need tutoring or you may want to "audit" the class one time through before you take it for real. If you are in high school, you might need to stay after school or find a suitable tutor. Perhaps you should step down a level and take the weight off of your shoulders. Advanced classes make school interesting for people who would be bored by a slower pace. If you are in over your head, you need to slow down and really learn it. In any event, you will cause much greater damage to yourself if you fail a class or get a low grade. The American GPA system is unforgiving. You cannot gain points like you lose points. Nobody cares about valiant, failing efforts at tough classes. If you are in over your head in high school, find shallower water by changing your level. In university, get out of the pool by dropping the class....
