“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” (Psalms 32:8, Amplified Bible). The Bible has a profound effect on people. To the believer, it is the word of God and is used as a blueprint as to how we should live our lives. Although the bible is full of teachings, sometimes we forget to lean on it and instead lean on our own understanding. After reviewing the decision Ramona is facing in regards to signing a contract with Next Step, it can be determined that God is displaying all of the signs of what she should decide. However, the message can become an unclear when $80,000 is the starting salary. Looking at this from a Christian’s perspective, Ramona should not sign the contract with Next Step because of the lack of ethics, honesty, and integrity from the CEO and company affiliates.
Every organization or company has a purpose, a reason why, that is typically described in the mission statement. The mission statement helps to create the corporate culture, or organizational culture. “Corporate culture is a powerful way for an organization to define itself, create high morale, uniformity among its employees, brand recognition among its customers and set itself apart from its competitors” (Sadri, 2014). In order to create a corporate culture, it must first start with the leadership.
“So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them with his skillful hands” (Psalms 78:72, Amplified Bible). Leadership is a relationship between people. In order to ethically influence others, leaders should have integrity. “Honesty was selected more often than any other leadership characteristic as the most important factor in the leader-constituent relationship” (McCann & Holt, 2013). Furthermore, employees want a leader they can trust. McCann and Holt (2013) went so far…...

...DISCUSSION BOARD INSTRUCTIONS As part of the collaborative learning environment, you are required to interact with your classmates and course instructor in three Discussion Board forums. The interaction within this setting makes up a significant portion of your grade for this course. For each of the two graded forums, the instructor will provide you with a thought-provoking topic that will help start your online discussion.  Each forum is completed in two parts over the course of two weeks. In the first week of the forum, you will post a new thread that directly addresses the prompt provided by the instructor. In the subsequent week, you will post two meaningful replies to at least two classmates’ threads. Thus, for each forum you are required to post a minimum of 3 times: 1 thread and 2 replies. The instructor will observe online discussions throughout the assigned weeks and may interject his or her comments intermittently. Feel free to respond to the instructor's comments in addition to the required replies to your classmates' postings. Follow the guidelines provided below as you complete each part of the forums. THREAD: • Respond to the questions/ideas that are presented in the instructor’s prompt. • Summarize any related ideas that are presented in the Fee and Stuart textbook. ...their sex lives with the aid of a little blue pill (Parnham, 2004). If this is not considered innovation, then what is? When the primary clinical trials happened, Viagra didn’t have a lot of effect on patients with hypertension; however, it gave males an erection. When the second clinical trial took place, they chose to keep using Viagra to treat E.D. This medication was patented during 1996, and was presented to the United States where it was approved to treat E.D. in March of 1998 (Parnham, 2004). Intrapreneurship was exhausted in presenting Viagra. One pro of exhausting the Intrapreneurship approach is the fact that developing Viagra was paid for by Pfizer, the creator of Viagra. The fact that there was more than one individual on board, this lowered the anxiety of the chances taken following the failure of the first couple of clinical trials in terms of treating high blood pressure. Yet another pro of this type of approach was that it gave a good reputation to the pharmaceutical company and it also brought in quite a lot of money once the drug was approved for sell. A con of this approach is that due to more than one individual working on Viagra, they had to make certain that they had a good line of communication to make Viagra a success in the marketplace. Management for this pharmaceutical business relied on its workers to make a successful medication to help with Erectile Dysfunction, and it made the employees feel a little bit uncomfortable in doing their......

...Top of Form   Discussion Board 1 Chapter 1: Why is shared information so important in a learning organization in comparison to an efficient performance organization? Discuss how an organization’s approach to sharing information may be related to other elements of organization design such as: structure, tasks, strategy, and culture.       “Learning Organization” is a name used for the process of using a strategy in a company to build training to improve and create a more effective company. Using this approach will require the company’s commitment and use of the Total Strategic Approach. Using the Total Strategic Approach, the following areas will be covered: performance assessment and appraisal, problem solving and acknowledgement, openness, honesty and trust, access to high quality, readily available information, inter-group activities and cross-fertilization of ideas, with organization assessment and evaluation of the development process” (Pettinger, 2002). The approach needs to be understood and created by the top management to be beneficial and effective.       “Performance Organization” is the focus on the performance and outcome of the company in three areas: financial performance, product performance and shareholders return. Rather than focus on the learning elements the company is based on the performance. (Citoni, Mahy, & Rycx, 2012)       In the “Learning Organization” structure, sharing information and communication is vitally important and...

...Discussion Board Forum 1 Adrian R. Castaneda Liberty University BUSI 620 Global Economic Environment Dr. Virgil Mensah-Dartey October 24, 2013 DB FORUM 1 Question 3 Unethical behavior and unlawful behavior are different in a sense that unethical behavior violates integrity, while unlawful behavior violates established laws. When discussing unethical behavior in the business context, one should consider the overall focus of a business; maximize profits for shareholders and owners. The way a business operates to make money can be treated as ethical or unethical. An unethical type of practice in the business world can consist of a business that is determined to make a profit without considering the morale and comfort of their employees (Svensson & Wood, 2008). By failing to have happy employees in your business and over working them to make a profit can cause an ethical dilemma as the employee can see this type of business operation as a way of prioritizing profit over the employee morale. According to Thomas, Schermerhorn & Dienhart (2004) unlawful behavior is actions that breaks established laws or rules that control business practices. This type of behavior can be easier detected over unethical behavior because by violating unlawful behavior, the individual or individuals are violating written laws. For example, giving away insider trading information on a new medicine is a type of unlawful behavior in the business context. Businesses have written......

...Discussion Board 1/Week 1 Business Ethics To imply the ethical and spiritual perspective and keenly advise Benji Watson on accepting or refusing the contract offered by New Gen Health Sciences, it is imperative to define the parameters of Christian spirituality and ethics. As Christian, we are guided by many Commandments and teachings and examples set by many prophets, noble men, and many parables from Jesus, where upholding higher moral and ethical standard for the good of others, not self, was dear to him. In Luke 10: 29-37, Jesus told the story of the Good Samaritan, a traveler from Jerusalem attacked and mocked by bandits. Two individuals, presented with the similar fate, were the least expected person to turn away and ignored the wounded person, by walking away and leaving the man stranded. Another important aspect to draw from the Christian spirituality mindset to advise Benji Watson, comes from Matthew 7: 12, commonly known as the Golden Rule. In this text, it is written that you do unto others as you would expect them to do unto you. Using the ethical perspective to advise Benji Watson, understanding of ethics, particularly business ethics, must be brought to bear. Ethics, in simplification is the study of good and bad behavior; whereas business ethics, a detachment of ethics, is what makes up good and bad behavior as related to business activities and values. From the definition of business ethics, we are left to decide what constitute the ambiguous terms...

...Applications Of Discrete Mathematics 7/8/2014 Phase 1 Discussion Board 2 To describe the notion of union and intersection we must first start with a set. A set can be numbers, objects, people etc. When you have sets of things, they can be combined to create a union or have elements in common. For example, if a company were looking for an employee within the database system they could search using last names. Say department A has Smith, Jones, Brown, Doe. Department B has Doe, White, Turner, Smith. The union of these sets would be written as follows: A U B = {Jones, Brown, Doe, Smith, White, Turner} The sets intersect with the two names in common, Doe and Smith. That would be written as: A n B= {Doe, Smith} The logical “and” and the logical “or” are important for database retrieval and flowcharts to help the system or reader to understand which way they need to go to seek out the information requested. Simple and compound statements help understand this notion. To help understand this let’s refer back to the original example. If the person searching the company database wanted to find a specific employee they would search for the last name and maybe first initial. This would take the search from a simple statement to a compound statement. The database would then need to search for the last name first and when it found the right name, Smith, it would then need to search for the first initial J....

...The Discussion Board (DB) is part of the core of online learning. Classroom discussion in an online environment requires the active participation of students and the instructor to create robust interaction and dialogue. Every student is expected to create an original response to the open-ended DB question as well as engage in dialogue by responding to posts created by others throughout the week. At the end of each unit, DB participation will be assessed based on both level of engagement and the quality of the contribution to the discussion. At a minimum, each student will be expected to post an original and thoughtful response to the DB question and contribute to the weekly dialogue by responding to at least two other posts from students. The first contribution must be posted before midnight (Central Time) on Wednesday of each week. Two additional responses are required after Wednesday of each week. Students are highly encouraged to engage on the Discussion Board early and often, as that is the primary way the university tracks class attendance and participation. The purpose of the Discussion Board is to allow students to learn through sharing ideas and experiences as they relate to course content and the DB question. Because it is not possible to engage in two-way dialogue after a conversation has ended, no posts to the DB will be accepted after the end of each unit. Consider the following scenario: A small equipment company is preparing its annual financial......

...Discussion BOARD FORUM 4 Discussion Board Thread Re: Job Description Definition: “Job Descriptions typically support key Human Resource decisions, including those which link competencies with functions such as selection, training, career development, pay determination and promotions. It includes a job Title, reporting relationships, a summary of responsibilities, and a level of decision-making authorized and hiring requirements information.” Hawkes, C. L, &Weathinton, B. L. (2014).Competency-Based Versus Task-Based Job descriptions: Effects on applicant attract. Journal of behavior & applied management, 15(3), 190-211 Summary: In an Organization, Human Resources is responsible for making Job Descriptions and handing them over to management. Some of the Job Descriptions are too long, outdated meaning that the information is not current, it is boring and confusing. According to Miller, a best Job description is one that is simple and straight forward, easy to understand. It is the road map to a good performance which benefits an Organization or Company instead of a boring document that contains theoretical activities (Miller, pg. 394) A Job description written well can also be used or rather can serve as a reminder of what is expected of the employees and most of all can be used in the recruiting process to attract good candidates who can be motivated and be able to perform a great job. When writing a Job description, it should be in such a way......

The businessdictionary.com defines the same word as a process by which an idea or invention is translated into a good or service for which people will pay. The product that I chose is the luxurious Cadillac. It sold in more than 50 countries and territories, but mainly in North America. The Cadillac is marquee owned by General Motors. It is the second oldest American automobile manufacturer behind Buick, and among the oldest brands in the world. Cadillac’s inception to the world came in 1902 by Henry Leland, a master mechanic and entrepreneur. He named the company after his ancestor, Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac; who was born Antoine Laumet, Detroit’s founder. General Motors purchased Cadillac in 1909 and within six years it became the foundation for the modern mass production of automobiles by demonstrating the complete interchangeability of its precision parts. It was also concluded that Cadillac was America’s premier luxury car. The crest on Cadillac is also an inspiration of Detroit’s founder around the time of his marriage in Quebec in 1687; however, there is no ancient family who holds the name “Cadillac”, nor is there a coat of arms in France...

...Prior to the twentieth century, theologians limited their discussion of Christ to the views set forth in their respective denominational or confessional traditions.” But, doubt that Christ in tradition was different from the actual Christ created a shift from metaphysical to historical Christology. This sparked the search for the historical Jesus in which two approaches, “Christology from Above” and “Christology from Below arose. Christology from above, associated closely with Rudolf Bultmann, Karl Barth, and Emil Brunner, was born from the idea that rather than studying the historical Jesus as a man, the best study would be of the resurrected Christ, His works and the relationship established by faith from His disciples. The ideas of this approach include: 1. The kerygma regarding Christ is a better basis for understanding than the historical account of His life. 2. Paul’s writings and the Book of John are preferred for study over the Synoptic Gospel’s historical accounts. 3. Faith in Christ is not contingent on rational proof. Brunnner does not concede a need to study the historical account of Christ’s life with respect to His different facets, one as God becoming incarnate in the flesh and the other revealed by Christ after the flesh. Brunner asserts the study of Christ in the flesh gives us greater insight to His Person in a historical sense than the alternative of Christ after the flesh which necessitates faith to fully comprehend. Therefore, the......
