...Proposal for Telework Conference Spring 2014 Research Triangle Park Area, North Carolina The Research Triangle Park (RTP) of Raleigh, North Carolina is one of the most prominent high-tech research and development centers in the United States. Recent estimates indicate that RTP is home to over 170 companies employing 42,000 workers and 10,000 contractors in Durham County and stretching into parts of Wake County. In November 2012, an update to the Park’s Master Plan was released which includes additional growth expectations for workers and infrastructure. A 2009 article in Bizjournals predicts Raleigh will be the fastest-growing metro area through 2025. Continued growth requires continued concerns for the infrastructure to handle the growth. A key concern in any major metropolitan area is transportation. Transportation infrastructure will be stressed and increased workers will require more updates to grow transportation support in conjunction with the increasing population. Ensuring strong business continuity, strong business environment and a viable environment for new business attraction will be critical in the future. In order to bolster the trend of continued and attractive business environment in RTP, a telework model should be explored. Telework is a solution that has been embraced by businesses and government over last several years. Numerous studies have been done that address the advantages of telework for business, government, workers and the surrounding...

Netw320 Wk 5 Rtp Report

...RTP – short for Real-time Transport Protocol defines a standard packet format for delivering audio and video over the internet. It is defined in RFC 1889. It was developed by the Audio Video Transport Working group and was first published in 1996. RTP is used extensively in communication and entertainment systems that involve streaming media, such as telephony, video teleconference applications, television services and web-based push-to-talk features. RTP is an end-to-end transfer of data in real-time. What this means is that data is sent from the server to the client(s) and is in actual time. Imagine something like Internet radio which is audio only, but there should be few lapses in the transmission since the data is usually buffered. A buffer is when data is stored in memory and played from memory. The buffer may allow for a few seconds of stored information before playing. Some applications can allow for setting the buffer amount. RTP is used in conjunction with the RTP Control Protocol (RTCP). While RTP carries the media streams (e.g., audio and video), RTCP is used to monitor transmission statistics and quality of service (QoS) and aids synchronization of multiple streams. RTP is originated and received on even port numbers and the associated RTCP communication uses the next higher odd port number. RTP is one of the foundations of VoIP and it is used in conjunction with SIP which assists in setting up the connections across the network. The Real-Time Transport......

Byp 5-5

...BYP 5-5 BYP 5-5 COMMUNICATION ACTIVITY | | (a), (b) President Surfing USA Co. Dear Sir: As you know, the financial statements for Surfing USA Co. are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. One of these principles is the revenue recognition principle, which provides that revenues should be recognized when they are earned. Typically, sales revenues are earned when the goods are transferred to the buyer from the seller. At this point, the sales transaction is completed and the sales price is established. Thus, in the typical situation, revenue on the surfboard ordered by Flutie is earned at event No. 8, when Flutie picks up the surfboard. The circumstances pertaining to this sale may seem to you to be atypical because Flutie has ordered a specific kind of surfboard. From an accounting standpoint, this would be true only if you could not reasonably expect to sell this surfboard to another customer. In such case, it would be proper under generally accepted accounting principles to recognize sales revenue when you have completed the surfboard for Flutie. Whether Flutie makes a down payment with the purchase order is irrelevant in recognizing sales revenue because at this time, you have not done anything to earn the revenue. A down payment may be an indication of Flutie’s “good faith.” However, its effect on your financial statements is limited entirely to recognizing the down payment as unearned revenue. If you have further......

When the metal’s temperature has dropped to 0.0 °C, it is found that 0.37 g of ice has melted. Determine the specific heat capacity of platinum. (Given the latent heat of fusion for ice is 333 J g -1 .) 2. A 72.8 g of copper at 143.2 °C is added to an insulated vessel containing 165 mL of glycerol (density = 1.26 g mL-1 ), at 24.8 °C. The final temperature is 31.1 °C. The specific heat capacity of copper is 0.385 J g-1 °C-1 . (a) Determine the mass of glycerol. (b) Determine the heat released from the copper. (c) Determine the specific heat capacity of glycerol in J g-1 °C-1 . (Ans: 2.4 J g-1 °C-1 ) [Dec 2014] 3. (a) Acetic acid, CH3COOH, is made industrially by the reaction of methanol and carbon monoxide as shown by the following equation: CH3OH(l) + CO(g) → CH3COOH(l) ΔHrxn = 355.9 kJ Determine the amount of heat evolved when 0.5 L of acetic acid is produced. (Given the density of CH3COOH is 1.044 g mL-1 ) (b) The molecule N2O4 is a dimer of the molecule NO2. The enthalpy of formation of N2O4 and NO2 are +9.67 kJ mol-1 and +33.86 kJ mol-1 respectively. Calculate the standard enthalpy of reaction, in kJ mol-1 for the formation of N2O4 from NO2. 4. Chanel No.5

...INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL SETTINGS / DESIGNER CASE STUDY RESEARCH TASK FASHION DESIGN Fashion design - brand : CHANEL History of Chanel No.5 Chanel No.5 is the first perfume launched by French couturier Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel in 5 May, 1921. The chemical formula for the fragrance was compounded by French-Russian chemist and perfumer Ernest Beaux. The number 5 to Coco Chanel means good luck. She released this perfume on the 5th day of the 5th month and it's main sent is May rose and jasmine. Coco's famous quote on Chanel No.5 is “what is very important in a fragrance, is that the fragrance has some kind of mystery” The Chanel No.5 journey starts of in the fields of May roses at the Mul family's generations-old flower farm, in Pégomas, France. The weather is perfect for growing and picking roses: fresh and not too warm. Every single rose that goes into each bottle of No. 5 parfum is harvested by hand right there. A 30mL bottle of No. 5 parfum contains 1,000 jasmine flowers and 12 May roses - all from this same field. On average, it takes an hour and 20 minutes for a flower to go from being plucked in the field to being processed in the factory. Workers gently place the roses in the pockets of their aprons and transfer them into big burlap sacks; once these sacks are full, they’re loaded onto flatbed trailers and pulled by tractor back to the plant. Jean-Francois Vieille, a cousin of Joseph Mul’s, oversees operations at the prettily landscaped......

...The Rise to Power of the CCP was made possible because of the failure of the existing regime to deal with economic and political problems. To what extent do you agree with this statement? The rise to power of the CCP refers to CCP achieving victory over the GMD in the Chinese civil war in 1949. The time period that will be considered is 1945 to 1949 and asides from the economic and political problems of the GMD, the strengths of the CCP and the weakness of the GMD will be considered for a holistic evaluation of the extent the rise to power of the CCP was due to the economic and political problems of the GMD. Economic problems aided the rise to power of the CCP to a large extent as it undermined the GMD’s ability to rule China, decreasing is popularity with the people, allowing the CCP to gain the support of the people in the civil war. The inflation of prices signalling economic failure can be seen from the price index increasing from 249,100 in 1945 to 287,700,000 in 1948 which led to people being demoralised and the GMD government being discredited with their economic policies which in turn led to decreased popularity, shown by the main supporters of the GMD being rich landlords and the majority of peasants not supporting the GMD but instead supporting the CCP. However, political problems such as corruption in the officials were as significant as economic problems as it resulted in the GMD losing peasantry support. GMD officials that took control of Taiwan were corrupt......
